Slowly I raised a bite up to my mouth swallowed not even paying attention to what I was consuming, and then continued to pick at my food. Do I really like him? Is Arthur right? A million thoughts swarmed through my head at once, all of them focused on him. Martin. I looked up to see Arthur looking at me with a sense of recognition. Blushing I looked around hoping to see everyone else almost done so I could leave the dinner table, and as if on cue Axel shoved an unhealthy amount of food leaving his plate spotless. Pumping his hands up in triumph, him and Ethan raced around the table and with a swing of water Axel had finished. "MOOOOVVVVVIIIEEE TIIIMMMEEE!!" me, Arthur, Ethan, Axel, Arthur's 4 year old little sister Jami, and his 18 year old brother Percy yelled at the same time. Rolling her eyes and sighing, their mother said, "I'll get the popcorn and candy you guys get the movie ready." Maniacally laughing Ethan and Axel sprinted into the basement to put in the movie, which of course would be the same as every time they got to pick. Green lantern. "I bet I can quote every line from this movie " I called back to Arthur as we climbed down the steps. "Same" he chuckled. Crossing the room I reached into a wooden chest pulling out a fuzzy blanket and plopped onto the couch next to Arthur. Pulling most of the blanket off of me, Arthur wrapped it around his leggs. "Remember when we were kids and we would build the BEST forts and spend the whole day watching movies" Arthur smirked. "Yea" I smiled, his comment triggering happy childhood memories of days spent in his basement. Plopping down next to me, Ethan and Axel played the movie and their mom handed us out snacks. The aroma that came from the buttery popcorn was amazing. As I got comfortable I heard steps coming from the stairs and a voice say "Hey guys sorry I'm late. I didn't miss to much right?". We all turn and see Jason, Arthur's 19 year old brother and following behind him was
their dad. "Look who showed up guys?" their dad said pointing and smiling at his son. Both strode over to couch and took a seat on the floor, and in the moment they sat down Axel resumed the movie. I looked around seeing all of Arthur's family members and I felt a pang of jealousy. My parents both were always at work and my older sister wanted nothing to do with me. Arthur, Axel, Ethan, Jason, Percy, Jami, and their mom and dad were closer to me, and actually felt like family in comparison to those who were blood related to me. Then I felt a warm feeling come over me, because as I looked around I saw people who loved and cared for me. And I realized they were my family. An explosion coming from the TV interrupted my thoughts and as I tried to focus on the movie I rested my head on Arthur's shoulder and drifted off to sleep.
