reaching the middle school building after school victoria saw will stood in the the ground alone, he was looking up at the sky, finding his behaviour odd she went up to him. "will?" she called out just as her hand landed on his shoulder. the world around her changed. in the flash of an eye victoria was in the upside down, the school in front of her a stark contrast to the one she knew yet still the same.

the once fresh air now replaced by a toxic one, and in front of her, the shadow monster stood huge and tall, it moved towards both her and will menacingly. the monster was elated, he had expected this to be just will, he hadn't expected to find victoria as well. his task had just gotten a lot more easy and there was no way he would let go of these two.

"will, will we need to go." victoria shook him urgently, but the boy didn't move, he didn't even spare the girl a look "no, it will keep coming back if we run." victoria looked at the young boy like he was crazy. "will look at that thing it will kill us if we don't run, okay please let's go." the boy didn't listen and even as victoria tried to lift him up she couldn't.

it was as if the boy had been cemented into the ground. victoria looked around helplessly while will shouted at the monster to go away. the girl extended her hands forward, ready to use her powers against this monster but it didn't work, there was no red glow around her fingers, no feeling of the familiar energy coursing through her veins.

victoria had no choice but to stand in front of will, she knew she couldn't leave so the only choice left was to hope that her body could block whatever that thing was from harming the young boy.

the monster extended it's tentacle, a shadowy tornado surrounded both of them, and small protrusions from it came towards will with such force that victoria was knocked to the side, on her back she saw how the tentacles were at will from all sides and victoria didn't have any time to escape, as the monster came for her as well.
