003 was in the rainbow room, playing with the toys in front of her, blocks of different shapes which she assembled in tall pyramids using her powers, the door opened as dr. brenner stepped inside. "hello, 003. are you ready for today's lesson?"
003 stood up from her place on the floor, took the doctor's extended hand into her own and followed him through the halls of the lab. the room came into view, another doctor was already at the table.
dr. brenner let her inside the room, and stood by as the other doctor put an electrode wire band over her head that read her brain waves. once she was successfully connected both doctors left the room, on the other side the team looked on through a glass window.
"Now, 003 i need you to concentrate on that bottle before you, and light it on fire." the young girl turned her attention towards the coca cola bottle before her on the table. her eyes squinted in effort as she put immense effort and suddenly, the bottle burst into flames.
"Wonderful." dr. brenner muttered to himself as he watched the girl wipe a drop of blood from under her nose.

003 had been living with Jim Hopper for almost a year now, she was not allowed out of the house, she never argued she knew that it might be dangerous, at least she didn't in the beginning. but now she felt bored, the monotonous lifestyle had become very tiring.
all she could do all day was watch tv, eat or try to read. hopper had started to give her lessons, teaching her rudimentary things. one day, after hopper had fallen asleep, 003 had put on her shoes, opened up the window in her room and very quietly jumped out.
003 spent a long while just walking around, she hadn't done it consciously but somehow she ended up back near the house, the one she saw the night she had escaped, it was dark now, the people inside must be asleep.
003 walked a little forward, and soon enough through their back yard she found a little box. as she neared it she saw how it was almost like a small room, "cas-tle byers" read the girl, a piece of cloth covered the entrance reaching forward she moved the cloth but immediately jumped back as she saw a boy sat inside.
the young boy sat up as well, "who are you?" the boy got up and walked towards her. "what's your name?" he asked again, "three" the girl replied, "three, that's a weird name, i'm jonathan. why would your parents give you that name?"
003 finally remembered the story hopper had given her, incase someone asked about her, "dead." she simply replied. "oh" jonathon's face fell "why- um why are you here?" "walking."
jonathan then led 003 into castle byers, for the next few hours they talked, or more so it was jonathan who asked a multitude of questions which 003 answered in short sentences not revealing too much.
the next day when 003 had again snuck out of the house, she found jonathon at castle byers again waiting for her. this time he had a big book in his hands when she looked at it quizzically, he explained that it was a book of names, he told her that his mother had gotten it while trying to think of names for will, his little brother.
jonathan explained how the book held hundreds of names, even for girls and they could pick out a name for 003 today. that way she could have an actual name. jonathan would say a name, look up to 003, see her reaction and then continue, after the long list of names for the first five letters, none of which 003 liked, they reached v.
"victoria." he looked up at her, and knew immediately that this was the perfect name for her. "yes?" "yes."
"then it's settled, your name is now, victoria." florence smiled brightly at that, she had an actual name now. suddenly jonathan jumped "this is great, because now i can call you vic, and you can call me johnny." he spoke as he made finger guns. florence laughed at his antics.
that was the day 003 officially got her name- victoria.

we just have one more chapter to go before we start with the show storyline!
i'll be beginning with the last episode of season 1 and then delving into season 2.
