"thanks for your jacket." victoria said to steve as the group walked through the train tracks. "oh no problem." steve replied. before them the kids started talking "you're positive that was dart?" asked lucas "yes, he had the same exact yellow pattern on his butt." dustin replied.
"he was tiny two days ago." "well he's molted three times already. shed his skin to make room for growth like hornworms." dustin explained "when's he gonna molt again?" max asked "well it's gotta be soon and when he does he'll probably be fully grown."yeah, and he's gonna eat a lot more than cats." steve said.
lucas stopped immediately "wait cat? dart ate a cat?" dustin scrambled for a response "no, what no." victoria then spoke up "what are you talking about? he ate mews." "who's mews?" max asked to which steve said it was dustin's cat. "guys!" dustin shouted at the both of them.
"i knew it you kept him!" lucas shouted and him and dustin began to fight. a sound was heard behind them and steve and victoria turned to see what it was "guys?" steve tried to get their attention "guys!" victoria shouted effectively stopping their arguments.
lucas used his binoculars to see where the sound had been coming from "it's the lab, they were going back home."

the group had started their journey back to the lab. lucas, dustin and max were walking in front while victoria and steve walked a little behind them. "hey," the boy grabbed her attention "you sure you're okay?" he asked.
victoria nodded. "yeah, i am. i don't feel him anymore. there are no voices inside my head, so i'm good." steve nodded, he wanted to keep talking. he wanted to keep hearing victoria's voice "you look good in the jacket." he said abruptly before internally smacking himself on the head.
victoria looked down, steve's jacket was loose on her it reached past her hands and she had to fold up the sleeves. it was warm and smelled exactly the way steve always did. "thanks. i like it." she said.
the group stopped when they heard voices from the other side. they were blocked by bushes "hello? who's there?" a voice came from the other side, steve went out first "steve." two people exclaimed as they saw him, victoria recognised the voices and immediately ran out "nancy?" steve questioned "johnny!" victoria exclaimed as she came running out.
"vic!" jonathan said with such relief as the girl jumped into his arms. hugging each other tight, they finally let go. "are you- are you okay?" victoria nodded. the two best friends failed to notice how nancy and steve stood there awkwardly trying to deny the jealousy each felt.
