after an emotional car ride to the lab, the trio got out, victoria stood still staring at the lab, the source of her nightmares, the place that stole her childhood from her. never in a million had she thought that she would be going back to this place. her hands seemed to be trembling slightly which made her stuff them into steve's jacket.
heading inside, hopper insisted on being upfront, wanting the girls to save their energy for the main event. walking inside, the gate opening came into view, a red glow came from the other side, the sounds of the monsters echoing through the lab room, the air around them acidic, just as it was before.
hopper, victoria and el stood facing the opening waiting for the message from jonathan, just a few seconds later a noise was heard. "chief do you copy?" hopper quickly pulled out the walkie talkie "yeah i copy."
"close it."

hopper pulled the lever to stop the cart from going lower, they were standing right in front of the gate, it was huge, with spider-like webs holding two of its ends together. the growls of monsters were clearer than ever.
victoria looked down to see that eleven had reached her hand out towards the other girl, looking up at her. victoria realized that eleven was looking for comfort, someone who believed that they could truly do this. victoria gave her a small smile, victoria extended her other hand towards hopper who held hers in a tight grip, looking at the two girls with pride and determination.
taking a deep breath, the girls each held up their hands, energy coursing through their bodies while elven's hand remained simply hovering in the air, red wisps of energy flowed from victoria's hands.
