will and mike sat in the former's room together, will seemed to be sweating through his clothes, the mind flayer running through his mind as he craved desperately to have a moment of silence. "what if he figures out we're spying on him?" will asked mike, "he won't. we won't let him." mike assured will.
"what if he uses the other one?" will's question now confused mike "what other one?" mike asked "the other one. there is someone else, like me. i just don't know who? everytime i try to remember, i just come up with a blank. and this person, the monster, wants them a lot more than me."
when will said that all mike could think of was el, she was more powerful than any of them, so maybe that is what the monster wanted. mike didn't think too much into it. he didn't think about the other girl he knew. he was still a kid, a confused kid who had been through more than he should have. "don't worry, we won't let him get to anyone." and for now, that matter was put to rest, as the boys and joyce embarked on another adventure.
meanwhile back at steve's house both him and victoria had spent the day doing virtually nothing, while the girl kept on begging the boy to let her go out, he had practically restrained her saying that she was still injured. the wound didn't hurt anymore but he was still extremely paranoid.
while they were on their 7th movie victoria paused it to ask steve "hey, shouldn't you apologize to nancy?" steve looked at her shocked "what?" he had heard her completely fine but he didn't understand why in the world she would want him to do that. he didn't want to apologize to nancy.
"i don't know, maybe if you do, she will realize that you and her were great together." victoria said "do you really think that me and nancy were good together?" steve asked, he wanted her to say no, he wanted her to say that she hated the two of them together and that she was glad they had broken up.
and it took steve a long while to figure out why he wanted her to say that, it was because of her, his tori, because all the fantasies he always had with nancy were now being seen with her. the moment he imagined walking into nancy's house and knocking on her bedroom door with flowers in his hand, he saw the door being opened by victoria. he saw her standing there with a huge smile on his face and that entire picture just felt right to him.
