Meow
Shinsou looked down at the cat currently circling his feet. Ever since he found the cat on U.A. grounds, it's been happily going up to him for affection. He wasn't sure where the cat came from, or who the cat belonged to, but he wasn't going to ever let the opportunity pass him by.
"You shouldn't be distracting me during class," he said the the cat, crouching down to carefully pat the creature on it's side.
He first found the cat when he was walking away from the sports festival. It was simply laying in a tree, watching from above the people that would enter or leave the building. He had just lost his first one on one match against Midoriya. After the encouraging words his classmates had shouted at him, he had rushed out of the building, reflecting on everything he ever thought of himself and his Quirk. He wanted to hide the overwhelming revelation, but there the cat was. It seemingly judged his disheveled appearance, then jumped down from the tree to rub against his legs.
He sat, leaning against that tree with the animal resting in his lap. It purred as he pet it, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. Tears fell from his eyes, nonetheless. When he started crying, the cat placed it's paws against his chest and kissed his nose. He laughed at the gesture but continued to embrace the animal. Since then, the animal would wonder onto the school grounds and somehow find him.
"Do your owners know you just sneak into U.A. often?" he asked, scratching the animal behind it's ears. The cat meowed as it rubbed it's head further into his hand. Loud purring filled his ears and he moved to scratch underneath it's chin. The cats head happily lifted up, showing a blank neck. "No collar?" he hummed, gently rubbing the animal's blank chest.
"Shinsou? What are you doing?" another class 1-C student shouted across the grounds. "Everyone else already finished."
Shinsou stood up, nodding to his classmate even if he couldn't see him properly. "I'll see you some other time," he said to the cat. Usually the cat accepted the farewell, but today it cried out with a long mewl as it placed it's paws onto Shinsou's legs.
"I have to go," he argued, bending over to pat it's head. "I'm sorry."
The cat wailed again, kneading against his leg as it stretched out to reach further up his leg.
"I can't," he said, more to himself than the animal.
It looked up at him with sad eyes and continued meowing, this time more annoyed as it's claws sunk a little too far into Shinsou's pant leg. He grimaced at the pleading creature and sighed.
