Sitting at the desk in his bedroom, Shinsou stared at his homework as music quietly played in the background. He tapped his pen against the paper, small dots building up on the blank side. He held his forehead in his hand, holding his head above his assignment.

Suddenly, he spun around in his chair. He faced his bed where Piyo had taken to grooming himself.

"Can you believe it?" he asked, his tone more exhausted than agitated. "They said I need friends!"

The cat ignored Shinsou's words. He continued to lick his stomach, bent over in an awkward position to balance his weight.

"And dad, talking about him and mom like we're anything like them! Me and L/n? What are they thinking?" he whined, turning back to his desk. "I don't even know her well enough to be friends, much less like her," he said, shaking his head. "I'm also extremely busy with U.A. There's no way she would understand."

Piyo turned over, licking his large thigh.

"She's weird and annoying. I only walked her home today because I felt bad. If she's getting harassed at school like that, she must be even more annoying," he mumbled, tracing his pen over the grooves of his desk.

Piyo chirped.

He sighed. "I know. I can't blame her for getting bullied." He turned around again, leaning forward to reach Piyo. "It must be for something dumb. Like when I was in middle school..."

Piyo leaned into his hand, loudly purring.

"As an aspiring hero, I don't have time for this," he said.

Piyo chirped.

"I know," Shinsou groaned as he rubbed his face. "It's also my job to be empathetic and all that crap."

Piyo continued purring. He stretched over Shinsou's blankets and shut his eyes.

"How are you always right?" Shinsou chuckled to himself. He shook his head and faced his homework.

His eyes burned from staying awake, but he wasn't able to fall asleep. Blinking a few times, Shinsou turned up the music and continued working on his assignment.

Bored of Shinsou's bed, Piyo slowly rose and leapt off. He strutted to Shinsou's school bag where he shoved his head in the open pocket and loudly rustled around.

"What is it?" Shinsou asked, leaning over to see the cat. His eyes widened, "The cat treats."

Getting up from his chair, Shinsou waved Piyo away. He pulled the treats out of his bag and frowned. "Yuuei wasn't there today." He held his hand out to the cat who happily cheeped as he began eating.

"I wonder if she'll be there tomorrow. I hope she's okay," Shinsou muttered, sitting on the edge of his bed. Piyo jumped onto the bed and rubbed the hand that previously had treats. "You'll like her, Piyo. She's very friendly for a stray."

Piyo meowed.

"I know what my parents said, but they will change their minds once they see Yuuei," he said. He threw himself back on his bed, bouncing a little on the mattress. "More cats will solve everything..."

Completely elated from earlier that day, Y/n didn't care that she was still a little wet from her shower when she flung herself on her bed.

"Can you believe it?" she questioned aloud. "He walked me home!" Y/n squeezed her pillow in her. arms. "He didn't even care that I was covered in dirty mop water..."

Y/n sat up in her bed, still hugging her pillow, and looked at herself in the mirror. On her head was a pair of cat ears. "He's so mean to L/n Y/n, but so sweet with Yuuei..." she muttered, touching her ears. "Would he hate me so much if he knew, or would that make him hate me more?"
