Juliet slips on her dark red dress, it reminds her of a ball gown almost. It has poofy sleeves, and a low cut, exposing the very little amount of breasts that she has. It went a little past her knees. Red was the Capulet color, but it was very far down her list of favorite colors. She preferred greens and blues. Her mother believed that it's rather scandalous, blue is the color of the Montague's.

"Nurse!" Juliet cries, "I need help buttoning my dress! Oh, and get the new corset Mother got me. It'd go wonderful with this dress."

"Jules," her nurse said, wiping her brow, "You give me way too many instructions. I only have two hands."

Juliet giggles and lifts her arms. "Your mother said to push everything up, and make you look older for Paris," The nurse admits.

Juliet gags at the thought. "There's a bunch of pretty girls his age," Juliet says, "Like that Hope chick. Why doesn't he go after one of them?"

"You're from one of the oldest and most powerful families in all of Verona. Paris doesn't know about the economic troubles-"

"And you're not supposed to either!" Juliet says spinning around.

Her nurse nods and smiles, "You speak in your sleep, Juliet. Do as I've taught you." She kisses her forehead. Juliet nods, and runs down the stairs. She stops at the base and touches the family tree carving. It goes all the way back to the Middle Ages, and all the way down to her. It was made after she turned twelve. She'd be the last Capulet. Her siblings are all dead. When she gets married the tree will be burned, and the Capulet's will be no more.

"Juliet!" Her father calls walking up to her, "Why are you being so gloomy?"

"I'm sorry father," Juliet whispers.

"Go on, the party starts soon," Capulet says, "Do not bother me when it does. Paris will take good care of you."

"Of course, Father," Juliet says, cursing herself for being so complacent. Her father pats her shoulder, and walks off. Juliet runs her finger through the carving one last time before going back upstairs to finish getting ready.

"Your friends Ophelia and Cordelia RSVPed at the last minute," Mrs Capulet sighed, "They can't come."

"What?" Juliet almost screams, "Who am I supposed to talk to?"

"Baby, this is good news," Mrs Capulet said, wiping her tears, "If your friends were here, then you'd be distracted! You can spend all your time with Paris now!"

This only made Juliet cry harder.
