Chapter 13 : Fortuitous
The chirps of the birds surfaced, leaves fell little-by-little on the branches, sun slowly warms the air on the clear blue sky while drying the morning dew as the wind gently danced the rice fields. I gnaw my lip until now as the wetness of my eyes kept receding and returning while Celeste had been silent for a while and zoned out. Viola's words kept running and replaying in my brain reason for my chest tightened. Am I really in reality? Is this really the end of everything?
I decided to break the silence as I took a minute before speaking. "I-I apologize for what Viola did,"
"You don't have to."
"Well s-she's.. a bit sulky. When we were kids when I was just with others, she was jealous, and I do understand her because she was afraid that I would find someone better than her," I stated. "Maybe she was just carried away by her emotions so she said that and we better give her a second chance-"
"Diana, why don't you let go what hurts you?" she asked reason for me to stop. "She even said that she was tired of understanding us. Then you'll give her a second chance that will just waste our time? We'll look like a fool if we do so."
I sighed and shut my mouth. She was right. But am I really boring? Do I need to change anything about myself? Am I really not good enough? What if Celeste leaves me too?
I hugged my knees as I was about to close my eyes when I heard someone shouting in the distance. I look around as my eye catches Vien yelling each other with her eldest sister in the distance near the neighborhood. Viola.
"Are they fighting?" Celeste frown.
"Let's go,"
The two of us stood up as we immediately approached the two of them as it became clear in my ear what they were fighting about.
"Admit it you threw it away!" Viola fumed.
"I said I didn't throw it, why are you blaming me?"
"Because you're the one who cleaned the house. Don't wait me burn your things, Vivienne!"
Vien noticed us as she ran behind me reason for Viola to turned to us. "A-ate Diana,"
Celeste walked forward to her. "Why are you shouting your sister?" she calmly asked but she just stared at her.
"What is this, Viola? Even your sister?" I frowned.
She turned to me with a smirk. "You two know nothing."
"Then let us know. Is that that difficult?" Celeste fuel up.
"It's none of your business. Move." she passed her as she attempt to pull Vien's arm behind me but before she could get close Celeste pushed her away.
"We're not done yet. Aren't you embarrassed that you're yelling at your sister here?"
She raise her eyebrows. "Do you think I'll listen to your words of wisdom? Tsh. Hindi halatang pinanganak kang pakilamera,"
"Excuse me? Nakaiirita ka kasi! I am ashamed of you because you're not educated, unable to accept mistakes and close minded. I bet your parents never taught you manners!"
"Celestia." I reprimanded.
"Pardon?" Viola came closer to her as they both stared straight into their eyes. A hammer pound on my chest as I looked at them in turn. Are they going to fight again?
"Y-you two, don't tell me you're going to fight here,"
"You don't have manners." Celeste emphasized. "You haven't because your parents didn't taught you-!"
