(A/N: I want Mania and Bryan to meet each other in this AU so bad but my plot says not yet. So, have angst.)
Camp Oasis (Focus: Bryan)
Bryan woke with a start. He groaned as he stumbled upright. Shaken, he took his time getting reacquainted with his surroundings. He looked around and realized that nothing seemed to be out of place, and nothing seemed to be wrong either.
Bryan frowned. He could've sworn that something had just happened. He hissed as he went to rub his neck. Apparently, he had been attacked by something or someone out there. He decided to walk up to Inpu and Magnus' room, to see if his friend was still there. He opened the door. It was empty.
'Maybe Inpu and Magnus went out to cool off of something,' he mused.
He flew out of the building, shrugging off the weird urge to go back. Nothing had happened, right? But if anything did, well, he wouldn't have known and he did need to go back to help Bri with cleaning things.

Camp Oasis (Focus: Inpu)
Inpu panted, head pounding as he finished tying the bandages. He leaned against the chest and closed his eyes; today truly was horrible. He sighed and carefully stumbled upright, doing his best to ride out the pain. Inpu opened his eyes and blinked slowly, his vision adjusting to the dark.
Wait.
Either his pain was really that bad or the light around him had turned...purple?
Inpu's ears pinned back and he walked outside his door (at least it was still open). He looked up and noticed that even the ceiling was a purple tint. He shuddered, realizing the implication; that book had done...something, but what?
Disastrously, he would find out the answer to that very soon. So soon, he saw it the instant he looked down. There was a figure shoved into the kitchen island's side, slumped against two fallen chairs. Inpu could feel his body go into what felt like shock...no...it couldn't be...
"Bryan?" he choked out. He scrambled down, wincing as he hit his injured side on the railing.
He practically slid over to the body, frantically checking it: white hair, white wings, white tailcoat, black boots, armbands, little tattoo; this was Bryan, sadly.
Inpu carefully moved the body and laid its head onto his thighs. He stroked Bryan's hair shakily. His body began to shudder and he cried.
"Bryan, dear, I'm sorry," he sobbed, slightly caring that he was dripping tears onto the body's face, "Oh gods, this was my fault."
He cradled it close and tuned out the world, unwilling to move past this tragedy.

"Inpu? Hello? Anyone?" a voice called out. He looked up blearily. Xylo sped-walked inside, looking around before rushing over to him. "Oh sh-, is that Bryan?"
Inpu nodded, melancholic, "It was the book, Xylo. It did this."
Xylo inhaled sharply, "This sounds kind of mean, but if this is how you're going to react to Bryan, you're going to want to brace yourself - and you lost your arm uh..."
Inpu scoffed and rubbed at his eyes, "The sky is purple...Bryan's dead...everyone is probably dead...I hate it here."
"Well, I mean," Xylo gestured aimlessly, "at least us demi-children relating to death are still, ha, ironically, alive."
Inpu slumped. He carefully placed the body on the floor and stood up.
He looked over to Xylo and put on a weak yet determined face, "Let's go."
