Bryan's Mansion (Focus: Bryan & Helios)

Except it was too late, he winced as he crashed and slid on the grass in his garden.

And right into a tree.

Bryan gasped, then winced as it registered in his head how sore and bruised he was. Looking around, he noticed that he was somehow in his bed, Helios in the courtyard.

"Wonder who could've done that," murmured Bryan, "No one comes around anymore."

Sighing, he shook away the thought and mustered enough strength to painfully get out of his bed and hobble towards Helios. Helios noticed that Bryan was awake and immediately stamped the ground.

Bryan chuckled, "Sorry bud, I really didn't mean to crash like that. It's just that...I dunno...something weird happened a-and I guess it just scared me."

Helios nudged Bryan and stamped his hoof again, angered and concerned. The two made eye contact, and all that could be felt was the awkward tension.

Then, without warning, Helios began to circle Bryan, sniffing and nudging whatever he felt like examining, Bryan's arms, sides, wings, even hair.

He only stopped once Bryan let out small whimpers of discomfort. Helios let out a sort of sigh, turned onto his side so that Bryan was facing it, and then knelt.

"I can still walk Helios, no need to coddle me."

Helois rolled his eyes and used one of his wings to coax Bryan into getting onto his back. Seeing no other given choice, Bryan sighed and slowly heaved himself onto Helios.

Helios' wings fluttered slightly, and then the two went off to the bathroom. Bryan held snugly, making sure that Helios was also comfortable, especially around the wings.

The echos of the fairy horse's hooves reminded Bryan of just how large the Summer mansion really was. Today, he was grateful for the silence, he didn't think he could handle anyone coming to his house in his condition.

Upon entering their destination, Helois knelt down to allow his passenger to get down. Leaving him to his business, Helios stood back, waiting.

Bryan stumbled carefully to the large bath at the side. He smiled, content when he found all of his essentials ready for during and after the bath.

As Bryan did his business, Helios kept guard, ears swiveling and body tense. This protective behavior was very much appreciated, as Bryan still had "some" paranoia from the Seductive Rose.

'How sad, you still believe that it exists. Mario destroyed it, why worry?'

Bryan shuddered, he disliked being paranoid and having that little voice in his head, but it really couldn't be helped. Everything from last year still felt like a fresh wound. The memories really hurt Bryan, but he also found that it was a deserving hurt.

'Honestly, you do deserve to be hurt. Get used to it.'

Sniffling, he quickly finished his bath and dressed, careful to not get the clothing stuck on his wings. Still hurt from the crash, he couldn't help but limp his way to Helios, who assisted him in getting to the kitchen area.

Sweet aromas filtered through the mansion as Bryan prepared himself a simple berry-filled waffle breakfast. As he was wrapping up his cooking, he noticed that Helios left to go snack on the garden. He let out a small smile and cleaned up his kitchen area. Of course, he had to take longer to get things done but he was still able to clean up with minimal residue.

Done with the tedious chores, Bryan allowed himself to grab his lovely homemade breakfast and made his way to the nearest chair. The smell of fresh waffles and the clean air outside was quite the reliever for the demigod, a good distraction from the pain. It also helped his appetite (poor waffles).

After a short while, both Helios and Bryan were finished with their breakfasts. However, when Helios offered his back to Bryan, Bryan declined.

"It was a small crash Helios," he reassured the fairy horse, "It'll only take me a few days to recover. I'll just...um...use you as a crutch instead. I'd feel bad if I kept on sitting on you for something so simple."

Helios rolled his eyes and stood up, gesturing with his head that Bryan was allowed to do his own thing. Bryan nodded his thanks and as promised, leaned on Helios for stability.

"Now, how about we walk around in the garden? It'd be good for the two of us."

Seeing nothing wrong with this, Helios allowed his friend to use him as a crutch.

Not that Helios would admit it, but his actions paid off, as Bryan's little smiles made the experience worth it.
