Ch 32 - Soul Patching

(A/N: I wanted sibling moments but am 90% sure I forgot what I did with Bri)

Camp Oasis (Focus: Inpu)

Inpu sighed, looking over at Bryan, still unconscious. It had been yet another two challenging weeks without his lover, and neither he nor Magnus had the heart to start up the Cleopatra Ball, maybe another time, definitely, but not now.

He stared at his notes, courtesy of Magnus (and Solis), both of who were hanging out in the lounge area. Inpu grimaced as he heard Solis talking about going on a quest, of all times too! Inpu rolled his eyes and adjusted the earplugs he now kept on hand (courtesy of a recently recovered River).

Neither Bryan nor Ricarro had woken up, but due to limited supplies (and without the healing powers of Kay), Ricarro was carried to Momiji's shrine, so she could use the healing waters on him.

Inpu had yet to hear how that was going.

Sighing, he turned back to Bryan, placing an ear closer to his chest.

Thump thump, thump thump

A steady thrum greeted him, Inpu closed his eyes and felt himself be lulled to sleep...a short nap wouldn't hurt.

"Inpu? Inpu wake up." Inpu groaned as he felt Magnus tugging on his bandages. He slowly blinked up at his sibling, who looked to be in pain.

"Yes, Magnus?" he whispered, frowning.

"My ears feel funny," they said, holding him tighter, "Everything's so loud."

Inpu sighed and hesitantly stood up, walking over to one of the drawers. He pulled out a pair of earplugs and handed it to Magnus.

Magnus stared at the plugs, "I don't know..."

Inpu sighed and gestured for them to sit on the floor, "I can help you."

Inpu's ears twitched, "Where's Solis?"

Magnus shrugged, "He left after Nad came to visit."

Inpu raised an eyebrow, "Did he say where? Also..Nad?"

Magnus shrugged again, "It's Solis. And Nad isn't of your concern."

Inpu rolled his eyes, "Ok, ok, you can keep your secrets."

Once Inpu finished putting in the earplugs, he let Magnus adjust them to their preferences. Once Magnus felt comfortable, they got up and spun around to glare at their brother right in the eye.

"You need to rest."

"What if I don't want to rest?"

Magnus looked over at Bryan, "He'll be ok, Inpu. He's in capable hands."

Inpu rubbed at his face, "But what if he wakes up and I'm not here?"

Magnus rolled their eyes, "He'll probably be forced to stay in here anyways. It's not like he can fly away in his state. Let's go."

Inpu sighed and gave Bryan one last glance before allowing himself to be dragged away.

Rest in an actual bed would probably be good...

Camp Oasis (Focus: Bryan)

Bryan groaned as he opened his eyes, wincing at the harsh light bouncing off of the metal frames of the beds.

"Hi."

Bryan was startled, his wings lifting him off the bed and onto the floor harshly.

He looked over at the entrance, finding a familiar face.
