Ch 6 - Development

A/N: Sorry I didn't update for over a month, I've been trying to get back into a schedule that worked with both me schooling and my side projects....I don't know when that'll happen though lol.

Camp Oasis (Focus: River)

'Oh....it's morning,' River realized, as the sun shone right into his face. 

He stretched and got out of bed, squinting to look around and outside. He noticed Kay walking around with what seemed to be another Greek demigod. It was probably her boyfriend, Mario.

Stretching, River went to prepare himself for the day. It wouldn't do good if he looked like garbage as a camp counselor.

Around noontime, River realized that he hadn't done much. He was casually walking around the camp, venturing the different sections of camp. Impressed with how stunning all the old and updated parts of camp were, River decided to go a little farther. However, when he realized what that meant, he went to go find Kay.

"Hey, Kay? Where are you?" He called around the Greek area. 

He was still getting accustomed to the different cultures and places.

"I'm over here River!" Kay called out, somewhere near Mario's cabin.

Apparently, the two were finally having some time alone together. River sighed, as he could barely hear her near the field. He jogged his way to the cabin, eyes widening as he entered.

It had appeared that the two were... cuddling? The couple were, quite literally, wrapped around each other. Kay had 'trapped' her boyfriend in the coils of her tail. He was busy holding Daisy, and relaxing. River was still a little...envious of the two but he managed to keep it to himself, gladly taking in the domestic scene.

"H-hey Kay?" River approached, not exactly wanting to interrupt.

"Yes River? What ya need?"

"Well, I um I was wondering if I could, uh...go a bit outside camp?" He shrugged, looking away.

Kay raised an eyebrow, "I don't see why not? I mean, as long as it's still pretty close to camp, of course. I don't want to see you get hurt River."

River's eyes widened a little, "W-wait really? I um.. I didn't think you'd say yes..."

Kay laughed, and released Mario to bonk River on the head, "You're a camp counselor, I'd say you have the authority to go out the boundaries of the camp. Who knows? Maybe the gods will be nice to you and help you find a few new campers. Also, I did find you outside of camp so..."

River bowed slightly and hugged his friend. Then he waved at the other two people, who he had forgotten about, and then left.

In his excitement, he missed Mario's remark:

"Hey Daisy, what are you holding?"

He began his trek outside of the camp, somewhat excited to get to stretch his legs and see how the world was different from his own.

It didn't take too long for him to get lost. The sun wasn't all too high in the sky, nearing afternoon. He had gone into a forest, much more dense from the clearer, smaller one Kay found him in. He wandered around in the shade for a while, just enjoying the new landscape.

Time flew by as his developing adventurous spirit took him deeper into the forest. Day was almost night when he realized that the shadows were starting to become darker, and the air was becoming cooler. He stopped to look around.
