Tartarus (Focus: Soren)
Soren woke up, bones and muscles aching. He hissed as he stretched, ignoring the cries and moans of the other monsters.
Soren stood up, albeit shaky, and walked over to one of the sides; staring out at the other rows. He winced at the cramps and burn that covered him almost from head to toe. Then he sighed, ready to spend the rest of his day...standing or sitting...or whatever.
However, it appeared that today the Fates looked down on him with pity, for it wasn't too long of a wait before the ground began to rumble.
Soren froze, watching most of the other monsters begin to scream, cry, holler, and a multitude of other things. The rumbling worsened, and the cages shook.
Soren's vision began to blur and he quickly closed his eyes and braced himself, curling up into a ball.
The other monsters gaped and screeched, staring as their brother was taken out of the prison.
And then, all went still.
Bryan's Mansion (Focus: Kay)
Kay winced as she hit the arch leading to the mansion's entrance, mentally berating herself for rushing headfirst. She landed in the throne room and began running around. She winced as she entered the dining ... breakfast ... lounge(?) area. Her eyes darted around, searching for...
"Kay?"
She whirled around, a gasp flying out.
"RIVER!?"
River shuffled towards her meekly, harness in hand and blush on his face, "Hi Kay."
"River!" she grabbed his arms, searching for injuries, "Where on Earth were you!? By the gods, I left you alone for like what, an hour-"
"Kay?"
"-And look, I get it, you were out getting stuff for camp and like, that's a good thing but-"
"Kay..."
"-You really shouldn't have to, you're already doing great like-"
"Kay! I'm fine..."
Kay blinked and took a deep breath. She walked over, smacked him on the head, and hugged him tightly.
"Sorry Kay, I didn't mean to be gone for long. It's just that, well, um, I got somewhat...sidetracked?"
In response, Kay smacked him again and rubbed the bridge of her nose, exhausted, "Dammit River. Oh, wait-"
River shook his head, "Relax Kay as I said, I got a little, uh, distracted."
Kay deadpanned. River gave a tense smile and led Kay to one of the kitchen island chairs.
He went over to a refrigerator and took a bowl of fruit, a loaf of bread, and a jar of blueberry jam. He cut off a few slices and popped them into the toaster then placed the bowl and jam in front of Kay.
Kay, in turn, hurriedly snatched and ate one of the pieces, glaring at River as she chewed.
On her last bite, she got up and stretched, "River, we need to get back to camp. The new campers are going to be here very soon."
River, in turn, narrowed his gaze, "No offense Kay, but, uh, you seem a little...tense?"
She scoffed, "Someone sent a note River, a note! You know how this camp is. We're demigods, you never know who might want to take us."
He frowned, "If it helps, I wasn't in any obvious danger. I was helped by some other demigods."
She scoffed even harder, muttering under her breath. River, even though he was right there, couldn't understand anything. He sighed and began walking to the bedroom.
Kay stared, but followed, now keeping an eye out.
River grabbed his stuff, which by now, had both been adequately dried and moved to the vanity. Satisfied, he made to move towards the entrance of the mansion, but was stopped when he heard movement in one of the corridors.
A new, ragged face showed up.
Both stared.
"Ah."
Camp Oasis (Focus: Xylo)
Xylo stared the freshly made grave.
It was quiet. He couldn't find Kay. Or Mario.
Xylo blinked away some tears, wincing at how vulnerable it made him feel. He stood, saluted the grave, and left.
Bryan's Mansion (Focus: Kay)
Kay groaned, "I can't believe this is happening today..."
The newcomer, who introduced himself as Soren, was currently sitting on the fountain in the Aphrodite Mansion. Kay and River, however, were standing in front of him, one keeping an eye out for any other surprises and the other healing Soren's wounds.
Kay stood up, dusting herself off. She stared at and offered a hand to Soten, who allowed himself to be pulled up.
"Thanks....," he mumbled.
Kay nodded and River walked up, introducing himself.
Soren seem to both brighten and flinch at the demigod's introduction. Kay and River shared a glance.
"So...why are you here Soren?" Kay asked, posture relaxed.
Soren shifted his gaze away to one of the many gardens. He then fiddled with his rags, biting his lip before answering, "I'm here because I heard there was a...camp? I'm not sure what that is but, I was hoping to find others like me?"
Kay nodded in understanding, "If you're worried you won't fit in, we have a history of hosting campers with diverse backgrounds and abilities."
River spoke up as well, "Especially this year. Campers like me and many others; we've been invited too."
Soren gave a wry smile. He simply nodded and began to stretch his wings. Kay also prepared herself for flight though both seem to have forgotten that River had no means of easy transportation.
To this, he sighed.
Kay smiled at him mischievously, and grabbed him under his arms, flying off with Soren in tow.
Unbeknownst to trio, however, was the other demigod trio, watching in slight confusion, amazement, and in one unfortunate case, fear.
