Back in Time

Chapter 4

As they slowly entered, the hall grew silent and all eyes were on them. Even though they knew almost everything about these people, Natsu and Happy was a complete strangers in their eyes, and knowing that hurt them. They neared the bar, where an old man with a kind aura sat, watching the two with a warm gaze. Just seeing Gramps' face again made Natsu want to cry, but he fought back the tears, he wanted a good first impression, and randomly crying his eyes out didn't quite fit under that category.

"Hello, young child, my name is Makarov Dreyar. Is there anything you need? Are you lost?" His voice was just as warm and inviting as Natsu remembered and he couldn't help but smile.

"No, actually, I would like to join Fairy Tail." He stated, determination laced through his words. He could practically feel the smiles that lit up everyone's faces as he said that one line, but Master's smile was the brightest of them all.

After telling them his name, magic, and a little about himself, Natsu introduces everyone to Happy. Everyone seemed to love him and they were all happy, just like the little, blue furball's name. They all crowded around Natsu, asking him question after question, until Erza came, frightening most everyone, and ordered them to 'Give the poor kid some space'. They, of course, obeyed her because nobody wanted to face The Great Titania's wrath.

"Hello, my name is Erza Scarlet. It's nice to meet you, Natsu." She extended her hand to Natsu and he shook it. She seemes so nice when she first introduces herself, but the moment you do anything out of line, she completely changes into a blood-thirsty monster, at least that's what Natsu thought.

"Hi, Erza!" He responded cheerfully, with his trademark grin, showing off his sharp, dragon-like fangs. As there hands separate, he hear a familiar voice whisper in his ear.

"Don't get her angry, trust me." It was Gray, Natsu smirked. He had spent the majority of the walking portion of their trip thinking of ways to reply to the ice mage.

"Oh yeah, stripper." He was calm, yet the urge to punch the guy in the face was growing.

"What are you talking about?" Gray replied, confused, "Who's a stripper?"

"Gray, your clothes!" Another familiar voice. They turn around to see the familiar childhood scene of Cana drinking her 'juice'. A small smile grazes his lips, realizing they were the same friends he once had.

"I think I'm gonna like it here." With that a huge grin spread onto his face. Many adults laughed at this and before long all the kids had come up to Natsu and Happy, wanting to become friends.

The guild hadn't changed much from how Natsu had remembered it. And he was happy because of that.

The Strauss siblings were the same as ever. Mirajane looked like she had grown out of her 'demon child stage' as people in the guild called it. Lisanna was as sweet as ever, and was obsessing over the fact that she had gotten her bird transformation just right, and Elfman was still yelling about being a man. It was good to see that the lovely trio of siblings were still the same caring bunch they always were.

Levy was just as much of a bookworm as ever, and her loyal followers, Jet and Droy, were still obsessing over her, like always. Levy seemed more lonely than Natsu remembered her, maybe it was because Lucy wasn't there?

Mostly, he had gotten to know Wendy, Gajeel, and Juvia better. It was strange to see them young, neither Happy nor Natsu had expected them to be in the guild already, he got to know how they all got there. Apparently, Mystogan had dropped Wendy off at Fairy Tail, so she didn't run into Caitshelter like she did before. The duo hadn't been able to get anything out of Gajeel, and Juvia was too busy stalking and obsessing over Gray to even notice that Natsu was talking to her.

Same as ever...
