Back in Time

Chapter 5

About two months had passed since Natsu and Happy re-joined Fairy Tail, and it had been easier than they thought. At first, they believed that they could hardly look anyone in the eyes without bursting into tears, but now, they tried to focus on having as much fun with them as possible, and they were perfectly fine.

Natsu's only partner was Happy, they both decided that no matter what, Lucy was going to be the first person they added to their team. Then, they would somehow get Erza and Gray to join, too. Until then, Team Natsu would have to wait.

Though they didn't ever form a team with anyone, they sometimes did small missions with Wendy and Charla. Wendy was like a little sister to Natsu, and he wanted to protect her just as any real brother would.

After about a week of being there, they had adjusted to guild life again. And now, two months later, they were already taking on large solo missions with ease. Master wasn't kidding when he said Natsu would keep some of his powers. His newer spells and techniques were perfect for combat, not just a meaningless fight. Maybe it was because Lucy had helped him with them? She, along with Levy, had become amazing strategists.

Natsu constantly thought about going strait to the Heartfilia Mansion and dragging her back to Fairy Tail, but he decided that might not be the best plan. Happy and him decided it would be best for them to meet the same way they did before, naturally, then things would hopefully play out the same way. One thing he always thought about was how he was suppose to act like just her best friend when they were so much more. They were married for Mavis's sake!!

"Hey Natsu-san, want to go on a mission with me?" A small blue haired girl had spoken up, snapping Natsu out of his thoughts.

Currently, it was morning and he was eating a meal of Mira's famous fire chicken. It was his favorite food and he ate it all the time.

"Sure thing, Wendy! Have you picked one out already?" Normally Natsu or Happy would pick one out for them when they decided to go together, but this time she came holding an old looking piece of paper.

"Yeah, I was actually thinking of doing this one solo, but Mira-san said it was too difficult and that I should ask you to join me." He kept forgetting that Wendy was so young. Normally, she could handle most jobs herself, but that was when she was older, now she was around eight years old. She was a bit more shy than she normally was, he suspected it was because of her age, but her will to fight was just as strong.

"Ok, just let me finish eating first."

"Great! Thanks, Natsu-san!!" She squealed. She also thought of him as an older brother, she trusted him like she trusted Mystogan.

Natsu felt better for Wendy now, her joining the guild early was great because she would be able to see Mystogan some more before he is forced to stay in Edolas. That is, on the rare days he comes to the guild between missions.

"Okay, Wendy, you ready to go?" With a quick nod from said girl, they said their goodbyes and headed out to the requestor's house.

I know, it's pretty slow now. But, it needs to be that way for the story to make sense. And don't worry, in about two chapters it'll get really interesting and exciting! So stay tuned for more lol.
