Chapter 4: The Discovery of New Friends

After discovering this magical wood that Rusty gave to us, we decided to settle down and explore it. Fortunately, I had brought the stuff from the big fir tree with me and I set up the new fir tree so it was just the same as it was in the old fir tree.

Then we had to explore the forest and the island that the forest was in. We all hopped, burrowed, slunk, tiptoed, flew, and scurried through the forest, exploring it all around. Suddenly, Benjamin came upon a big maple tree. He knocked on it. Immediately, a striking purple-black and white magpie, an uppity-looking chocolate-colored wolf, an even more uppity-looking snowy white deer, and a feminine-looking spider, flew, creeped, meandered, and crawled out of the huge maple tree, respectively. 

"Have you ever heard of someone who died of a heart attack while walking his dog?", asked the purple-black and white magpie, whose feathers looked even purpler in the light.

"No", replied Benjamin confused. "But we have heard of someone who died of heart attack just about as he was about to catch a rabbit. He had the rabbit grasped inside his giant, meaty, hand and then he came tumbling down!"

"I've heard of someone who won't shut up about being able to fly.", said the chocolate-colored wolf.

"I've heard of someone who won't shut up about having sharp teeth", the magpie retorted. "They aren't even that sharp!"

"Guys, calm down and use your strengths for good. We will never be able to introduce ourselves to these foreigners if we don't stop fighting about our differences. Even though we are different, we still go together perfectly.", said the white deer. "My name is Will Antlerson, the wolf's name is Dommie Wolf and the magpie is called Jesse S. Magpie."

"What a cute spider!", squeals Benjamin. "I hope she doesn't bite."

"I'm a boy.", said the spider. "Even though I bite, I am still a male. I do not want to bite. But I had to. This red vixen said I was only a female spider who didn't want to bite so I bit her face off so she couldn't talk to me or see me anymore."

"That's sad.", said Benjamin. "Want to show us around the island?"

"Sure", the spider said. "By the way my name is Lu Longlegs."

"My name is Benjamin and this is Peter.", he said.
