Our team was all set and we were ready to track down the fiend that poisoned Rheneas' coal.

Squirrel Nutkin went into a hole that was in a tree.

"I can easily sneak up to the poisoner and catch them from there!", he said. "You'll be sure to thank me then. Nobody has ever thought my abilities were worth anything. When I was telling riddles and playing games instead of gathering nuts, the other squirrels thought I was being silly, but I was actually trying to distract Old Mr. Brown from getting the nuts. But I'll show you that these are really useful things after all. Come through the underground tunnels with me and see how really useful they are!"

Benjamin, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail, Lu and I went into the tunnels. It was very cold, dark, and clammy. We also felt very cramped and claustrophobic. Sometimes, we even bumped into each other and got stuck.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?", asked Lu. "We don't seem to be getting anywhere and it feels really uncomfortable!"

"Trust me", I reassured him. "He knew what he was doing when he was with Old Brown. I think Nutkin knows what he's doing, even if he looks like he doesn't"

"I sure hope so", Lu responded. "It looks like trouble is coming from above."

"We'd better dig out.", said Benjamin. "We need to see what's going on above" So we dug out of the ground and to our surprise, we saw none other the dastardly Mr. Tod.

"Well, well, well, my tastes morsels of mince meat, after all these years, we finally meet again.", he announced.

"D-don't eat us...pleeeeaaase!", wailed Benjamin, while Flopsy and Mopsy cried quietly behind a tree. Cottontail did push ups and sit ups and pumped up her muscles, as if she was preparing to fight Mr. Tod.

"Anyway", he said. "I know your poisoner. I have been working with them to take over the forest. They have been a really good friend to me and I would like you to meet them."

"Yoo hoo!", Dommie yelled. "Poisoner! Come out, come out wherever you are!" There was an ominous rustle in the bushes and we thought we heard thunder rumbling in the distance. Then a tall, thin, and stunningly beautiful vixen figure emerged from the bushes.
