NADIA
"It feels like I've waited my whole life for this day." I tell Ezra. I look at him to see he's already looking back at me, "What?" My eyebrows furrow. "You're just so beautiful."
I smile, leaning in to kiss Ezra. My phone ringing causes me to pull away. "Nik." I answer the phone, "I'm okay with it." He simply states.
"Okay with what?" I wonder. "You killing the man who made our lives hell." My twin explains. "If anyone should do it, it's you." I hear Luka's voice.
"How did you know I'd do it?" I question, "You're my twin, I just knew." He responds. I chuckle, "Make him suffer, Nadia." Niko tells me.
I let out a breath, "You know I will." I clear my throat before asking my next question, "Do you think Viktor and Vadim are okay with it?"
"Definitely." Luka speaks, "They just want you safe, Nadia. They don't want you in danger so, of course you can kill the man who has made you suffer since the day you were born." He explains.
I chuckle, "How are you going to do it?" They ask. "It's a surprise." I respond before ending the phone call. My head turns to Ezra as silence takes over the room, "Should I read it?"
I stare at the file on the table, "It may have the answers you want." Ezra reminds me. I take a deep breath before picking it up.
My hands open it staring at the top picture, the first picture being my mother. My mother wasn't the first person my father killed, yet there she is.
I tear up as I read the details of how she died, I watched her die. At ten years old, I watched my father hold a gun to her head then proceeded to beat her lifeless body.
The tears fall from my eyes, thinking about it. Ezra's hand rests on my lower back in attempt to comfort me. I sniffle before flipping to the next picture.
A young boy, anger flows through my body when I read the sentence at the bottom. 'He saw too much', I almost feel nauseous at the fact that his life had barely begun. He was a kid, who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
"That's sick." Ezra mumbles. I nod my head, not being able to find my words. The picture changes to a woman who couldn't have been more than twenty. My stomach turns at the words written, 'Wouldn't give me what I wanted'
I don't know what's worse, the fact that she looked so young or the fact that she lost her life for saying no. This proves that my father really does only see the world as his.
If he doesn't get what he wants, he resorts to murder. He can't be reasoned with, which is why he has to die- today. By killing him, I may be saving more than one life.
"Am I crazy or did she look- a lot like you." Ezra finishes my sentence. "It's disgusting." He expresses. "Very." I mumble, before turning the page.
I gulp seeing a man, a man with the same last name as Issac. "That's his father." Ezra stares at the photo. I shake my head while I read the words. 'He wanted to stop working for me'
Issac's father wanted a better life, Ezra told me about it before. I just didn't know that was the reason why he lost his life.
I wasn't ready for the next picture and neither was Ezra. The breath leaves me as I stare at the picture of Astria. Her and Ezra sharing the same eyes.
