The lights of my family's house were bright against the dark sky. It didn't look like there were many people left at the house when we pulled in. I was happy, I didn't want to socialize I just wanted to be alone with Luke. He parked his truck by the barn where he always did and came to open my door. I jumped out and he stood in my way putting both his hands on my face rubbing his thumbs on my cheeks.

" We need to talk Dela. I meant what I said I'm not going anywhere. Do hear me?"

"Ok." He let my face go and grabbed my hand "let's go"

I followed him still drunk on the memory of our stop on the way home.

When we entered the house everyone was laughing and having drinks.

"Finally, I thought you got lost man!" I saw Ben coming over to Luke when he saw me in tow he pressed his lips together and put his fist to his mouth stifling a smile. He cleared his throat "ok then."

Luke squeezed my hand as if to tell me to ignore the nonsense. I just kept my head down and followed him.

Luke was still holding my hand as he poured us a glass of wine with his free hand. I watched him thinking everything he did was so damn sexy.

"Porch swing?" He said while motioning to the porch.

Those butterflies came back as I shook my head yes and followed him. We sat down and he put his arm around me pulling me close to him. I could feel the warmth of him radiating toward me. "I've missed this." I said not realizing I was crying. God, I was such a mess. Coming back here always made me weak.

"Shhhh Dela Blue don't cry anymore. Please. We will have that talk but tonight just isn't that time." He rubbed my shoulder and kissed my forehead. We sat there for hours rocking back and forth.

Everyone had finally left and my Mama came out to say good night to us. She was so tired and she drank too much. I could see she was relieved it was over. I wanted to make sure she got to bed ok so I walked her to her bedroom. I pulled the covers up for her and kissed her hand.

"Today was beautiful Mama. I love you."

" It was beautiful Delila your Daddy would have loved it. I love you too sweet girl." I tucked her in tighter and she grabbed my hand again pulling me slightly. I looked back at her.

" Delila that boy out there loves you so much. Don't let your pride get in the way of that." I squeezed her hand and smiled at her and turned off her light.

I walked back to the porch to sit some more with Luke before he left for the night but he was gone. I felt a tear escape my eye as I looked down and closed the door turning off the porch light. I headed upstairs to my room. My heart felt so heavy. What was I thinking, that he would actually stay? The light from outside my bedroom window was illuminating my room. I didn't bother turning on my light. I jumped when I heard Tennessee Whiskey start playing and Luke's hands run down my arms. I sighed with relief as my skin sparked from his touch again. I turned to see a naked Luke looking at me with that fire in his eyes. He unzipped my dress and pulled it over my head dropping it on the floor.
