Celestial City
————
Inside the deepest parts of most cities lays a closed off kingdom, restricted access to only those of royal blood except on special occasions. Celestial city was somewhere up in the clouds, not physically but mentally, the citizens who lived there upheld a euphoric atmosphere which caused the entire city to shine. Near the back end of the city, just before the Golden forest, an immense castle stood elegantly, allowing sunlight to reflect off it's stained windows. Thick vines grew up the side reaching all the way up to the highest point to where a locked room rested. Celestial Castle was among the three biggest kingdoms in the world yet the greedy desires of the king and queen wanted more.
Hyunjin their oldest son was of age, they wanted to use him to connect their kingdom with the second biggest kingdom so that they would become more powerful.
"I told you mother, I'm leaving tonight."
Hyunjin's dark flowing hair was tied back with a white tie as his overcoat hung over his body tightly. As he stood before his mother, the queen, he held tightly to the hood which covered his face almost completely.
"This is ridiculous, you cannot leave now, in fact it's already impossible. The guards have been ordered to stop at nothing to see you remain here until the wedding tomorrow."
"Don't you understand how selfish you and father truly are. Just so you can have more power and respect." He turned away from his mother as he started moving quicker towards the barricaded gates to the castle.
"You're twenty and of royal blood Hyunjin. You should start acting like it." His mother's harsh words caused him to stand firm in his tracks and he felt the blood rushing towards his clenched fist. "If you don't go through with this marriage, your younger brother, Jeongin, will be forced to take your place."
Images of Jeongin and his secret love to Soojin filled Hyunjin's mind, the genuine smile on his brother's face to receive each love letter which was slipped through his bedroom window in the early hours of night. If he left now it wouldn't be his parents who were selfish but him. He couldn't destroy his brother's happiness for his own.
Slowly Hyunjin's hands gripped to the inside of his hood dragging is off his head harshly.
"Fine. You win mother. But don't ever expect my forgiveness. I will never forgive you for restricting my freedom. Ever."Arim's pov:
————Morning struck quicker than usual as my head started to pound. Recalling last night made me sick to the core as I rolled over in my sheets to reach the glass of juice my maid had prepared for me. This wouldn't be a normal feeling for one to feel on their wedding day, however it wasn't a normal wedding. My soft hand rested on my forehead as I attempted to take a deep breath. The man I was marrying lived over 35 miles away, he would have had to of traveled yesterday so he could most likely be here already. Just the idea of it made me sick. He was a complete stranger.
