Aufem's POV

"Kahit wala ka ng regalo, love. Please open your eyes....birthday ko ngayon........." I can't seem to hear his last words.

Ang bigat bigat parin talaga ng talukap ng mga mata ko. I-I'm tired. Masiyado pang pagod ang katawan ko para gumising.

"Sleep well, love. I guess you wouldn't open your eyes now." May bahid ng lungkot ang pagkakasambit niya nito.

Please open your eyes, Aufem.....please. please.

"L-Lukesio?" Nahihirapan kong pagtawag sa kaniya.

I don't know what day is today, but hearing him say the words that it's his birthday, hurts my heart. Hinihintay niya akong bumati. Hindi ko man lang naalala. Wala man lang akong nagawa.

Any man would get tired of me. Pero siya, he is still here to fight with me. Kahit gaano kahirap, kahit na nakakasawa na. He chose to stay.

"H-Happy birthday, Love." I don't know if he can hear this one since I'm also having a hard time to talk.

Medyo malabo pa yung paningin ko kanina, pero ngayon kitang kita ko na ang napakagwapo niyang mukha. His eyes shouts happiness, and contentment. Kahit lumuluha na siya.

"I'm sorry for being late at your birthday, love." I'm still trying my best to conserve my energy. Hindi ko alam kung ilang araw nalang ang kaya kong itagal.

I can't wait to marry him and end my promise....so that I can let him go. Hindi ko alam kung maabutan ko pa ba but I'm praying to God that I can still live up until that Day. Kahit yun nalang.

He smiled and kissed me. "T-Thank you. Sobrang saya ko. You managed to open your eyes, love. Hindi ka late."

Luke, paano nalang talaga kung mawawala na ako? Will you really be this lonely?

"What are you thinking again, Aufem? Yang dalawang kilay mo, malapit na magtagpo."

"Hindi ka ba galit?" Bulong ko. I bit my nail. "I could've done better. I should've been with you in your special day. Nakabati man ako, but that's just it."

He nodded his head. "You could've done better? For me, you already did. Seeing you alive and well is already a gift for me."

He caressed my face. "Your happy birthday is not just a simple greeting, love. That two words will be a memory that is worth a lifetime." He started to rest his head in my side. "Am I being cringe? Ang tanda tanda na natin pero grabe parin akong bumanat."

"Ay buti alam mo." Mabilis kong sumbat.

"Advance Happy Birthday as well, Love."

Nagtataka ko naman siyang tiningnan. "Ang layo layo pa naman ng birthday ko, Luke. Tsaka, ikaw yung may birthday, bakit ka nakikibati?"

"I just realized that I might not be able to say it in your actual birthday. Baka wala kana." His voice is laced with pain. "That's why, kahit hindi mo pa birthday ngayon....let's celebrate it together."
