Intrusive Questioning

"Look, I completely get why Sulfus is so into Elos, but why in devil's name is Elos so into Sulfus?"

Kabale set her thoughts out on the table for all to hear. The fairies, witches, and wizards gathered in Raf's castle to finally meet face to face. Though there was trouble with the obvious prejudice, they were able to come together for their mutual friends

"Elos, that question is entirely too invasive. Aside from that, asking why she loves him is just odd." Sweet huffed, nudging the witch next to her, which she got along with swimmingly.

"Totally, but you gotta admit, you're a little curious too." Cabiria snickered, adjusting the clip in Sweet's hair. They bonded over their mutual love of fashion.

Urie laughed, "I don't think it's that serious, I mean, Elos always had a love of danger, right Raf?"

"Oh definitely." Raf smiled, setting another plate of food in front of Gas, since he was eating it all up. "But... I do think it's a little strange for her to get attached to someone she just met..."

"Just met?" Sulfus asked, glancing at his girlfriend.

Elos shrugged. "It's too much to explain if they can't even remember the planet. People hardly remember that crystal magic, even the knowledge of the mini worlds was lost. I mean, other than you and Raf, it seems like my entire existence was erased." She sighed, pushing a cup out of the way so she could rest her arms in that spot.

"Yeah, it's a curse. I'll fill you in on it later." Sulfus offered his hand, and the moment she took it, he interlaced their fingers.

Kabale fake gagged, holding her stomach. "Ugh- I'm so gonna vomit! Anyway, Elos! Spill. How did you fall so fast for our precious little crown prince here?"

Raf hummed, "I'm actually kind of curious too..."

Urie nodded. "Yeah, I mean, it's weird, right?"

Sweet folded her arms, shaking her head. "Elos, you don't have to bother with them.

"No, Sweet, it's perfectly fine." Elos smiled at her friends, leaning against her boyfriend. "Are you curious, Sulfus?"

Sulfus shrugged, smiling at her. "I know that you like me, and honestly that's all I need to know."

She giggled, "You're cute, babe."

"You guys are gross. Cute, yeah, but it's weird seeing my brother be mushy." Cabiria stuck out her tongue, then looked over at the fairies who were being oddly quiet.

Mikki just shrugged, not having anything to say on the matter.

"So, the answer to my question? I do really want to know." Kabale leaned against Raf's back, taking a cookie off the plate in that princess's hand.

"Well, if you're curious." Elos began twirling her hair around her finger as if she were nervous and a hint of pink began to creep on her face. "I've liked Sulfus for a little over ten years now, he's been my one and only obsession. If the question is 'why' I love him, I don't think I could quite explain, but if it's 'how' I fell for him, then I'd say it'd be his eyes. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of people with cold predatory eyes, maybe even more bone chilling than his, but his eyes contrasted his personality so much."

Kabale furrowed her brow, almost glaring at her. "So.... What?"

Elos thought very carefully about the words she wanted to use, then just smirked. A very devious smile that Raf could only think of as being dreamlike.

She lowered her voice to a near whisper, narrowing her jewel-like eyes. "He's like a wild dog, and I wanted to tame him so badly. I wondered what he'd look like under my feet, whimpering and barking for a reward. The thought of that was... Exhilarating."

Raf shuddered and excused herself from the room hastily. Once she was out of ear shot, she melted to her knees as her entire body trembled under the weight of the words she wished her meant for her. Her legs felt weak, and her body was so hot she didn't know what to do with herself.

Sulfus was at a loss for words, if she had said anymore his entire body would've burst into flames. There was a heat rising at the pit of his stomach, and he harshly bit the inner part of his lip to suppress it, even just a little.

Elos rolled her eyes, avoiding her boyfriend's pleading gaze. She knew what she was saying, exactly what she was saying, and knew that it wasn't want her dear friend wanted to hear.

Kabale clicked her teeth. "That's not what I... Ugh, nevermind. Sorry for asking like that."

Cabiria's spiders fanned her with webs made of silk. "Okay- so now that we've all been exposed to that, teach me sometime honey, why don't you answer her for real. Because of the dragon's desire, Sulfus's feelings for you are amplified to... Well... He's obsessed with you."

Elos smiled. "I know. And I know the answer she wants to hear, but it's just not the truth. I love Sulfus, I have for over ten years. Ever since we were children, I've loved him more than anything in my kingdom. So, believe it or not, what I had to be willing to give up for me to get my enchantix wasn't my life, it was my future with him. To save my cousin, I had to be fully willing to give up my future with Sulfus, and that gave me my most precious object... You see, guys, I can't explain my feelings with pretty words like everybody else can. The answer you're looking for just doesn't exist."

Mikki and Sweet looked at each other and nodded.

Sweet was the first of them to speak. "There's no reason to actually try to explain your feelings, to anyone. Buuut I am interested in your enchantix."

Mikki smiled, "I didn't know you were an enchantix fairy. No wonder you didn't come to Alfea, that's the end of the curriculum."

Elos nodded smiling softly. "Yeah... There's a lot I should tell you guys... For real."

And that's how one invasive question became an entire discussion. But that's a story for another time.
