#10- 4th of july

HEYY!! in honor of 4th of july here's 4th of july themed one shot :))

notes:
everyone is with their respective partner already (dating or married)
ricky and nini are married and this is their first july 4th together
everyone is like 25/26

nini and ricky walk up to the door of the caswell household, hand in hand. ricky knocks on the door and a red haired girl swings the door open, a drink in hand.

"oh my gosh heyyyyy there!", she says, clearly a little drunk already.

"hi ash!", nini smiles, hugging her, "happy july fourth!"

ricky smiles and hugs ashlyn too as the couple enters the house. the music is blasting in the large backyard while guests are partying everywhere.

ricky and nini walk around, greeting all their friends.

"gina!!", nini squeals, hugging the girl, "obsessed with the fit."

"agh look at you!", she gushes, swallowing the brunette haired girl in a tight hug.

"omg you have to come see this! carlos and seb have been doing this since they got here!", gina exclaims, pulling away nini by her wrist.

nini looks back at ricky with a chuckle and smile. he smiles at the girl, walking off to see their other friends.

nini and gina enter another small living room where carlos and seb are both holding microphones and singing lyrics from a tv screen while the music plays from connected speakers.

everyone is clapping their hands and cheering as the two boys continue.

"what's the—what're they doing?", nini asks with a chuckle.

"you basically have to get the perfect pitch and rhythm and it gives you a score. they've been trying to get a perfect score for who knows how long.", the curly haired girl explains.

carlos and seb finish their song and turn away from the tv screen, bowing to the crowd. they spot nini and both wave with a bright smile, mouthing 'hi'.

nini waves her hand back and gives them a thumbs up with smile before the two girls walk into the kitchen.

"hey nini!"

nini turns around and smiles, "hey red! how're you doing?"

"i'm good! you?", he asks, sipping on his drink.

nini nods with a smile, turning around to see gina holding a drink right in her face. the girl chuckles while grabbing the solo cup.

she takes a few sips before flinching when feeling arms pat onto her shoulder. she coughs, turning around before letting out a breath of relief.

"howie! what did i say about scaring me!", the girl playfully scolds before hugging the boy.

"hey—i tried to stop him but since we haven't seen you in a long time he insisted.", kourtney chuckles, going in to hug the girl.

"where's ricky?", howie asks.

nini shrugs, "he's probably off messing around with something. i should probably find him...throw him in a party and the man becomes a 3 year old child."

everyone chuckles and nini walks around the large house, looking for her husband. she finds him by the door that leads to the backyard.

"hey there mister!", she shouts, "stayin outta trouble, hm?"

ricky awkwardly looks around, "definitely."

nini shakes her head with a laugh, sipping on her drink. the boy takes the solo cup from her hand and brings it to his mouth.

"ricky it's—", the girl stops talking once he's already drank some.

she watches as ricky quickly swallows it and his face scrunches up in disgust. he sticks his tongue out, shaking his head.

"i was tryna tell you it's vodka...and you hate vodka.", the girl chuckles.

ricky grabs a different drink to wash the taste out of his mouth before the couple walks into the backyard where more people are dancing around and partying.

"AY THE BOWENS!"

the two look to the side to see the raven haired boy, flipping burgers on the grill. nini and ricky smile and ricky raises his hands in the air, ej copying him, instead he has a spatula in his hand.

ricky runs down the back porch steps and to the grilling area where he fist bumps ej and pats his back.

"hey man! what's up?", ej says, "glad you could make it."

ricky shakes his head, "nothing much. you?"

"just grilling for like...hundreds of people.", the boy chuckles, "i'm almost done though, so go have fun."

ricky grins at the boy and pats his shoulder once more before running off to his wife. nini and ricky stand in the grassy yard with everyone else, dancing around to the music.

the rest of their closer friends make their way into the backyard where they all form one big dance group.

nini comes running back to the dance group after filling up her drink for the fifth time. she stumbles into the middle of the group where she begins moving all around, dancing. she holds her arms up in the air, one of her hands still holding her drink as she sways around.

"she's quite tipsy.", howie jokes.

ricky sighs with a laugh, "she loves parties...and normally i'd stop her but i'll let her have some fun. it's our first 4th of july together and she's extremely entertaining when she's drunk."

howie laughs loudly as the group begins hyping up nini. the girl has a slap happy smile on her face while swaying her hips around and flipping her hair everywhere. she moves her hair out of her face and downs the rest of the drink while still moving her body to the beat of the music.

"guys the fireworks are starting!", ej yells out.

everyone gathers in the backyard of the caswell house, eating a bunch of junk food.

nini's standing next to ricky, chomping down on a bag of chips. ricky has his arm wrapped around the girls body as she leans in close to him.

the fireworks begin soaring into the dark sky where they pop and create a beautiful array of color. everyone 'oohs' and 'aahs' at the fireworks as they continue flying into the air.

nini was still very much drunk but she was having the time of her life. she lays a hand on ricky's chest, looking up at him.

"you're cute when you're drunk you know that right?", the curly haired boy says.

the girl forms a lopsided smile on her face as her head bobs up and down from being drunk and exhausted.

ricky slightly leans down and places a kiss on her lips just as the last firework, which happens to be a red heart, explodes in the sky.

everyone cheers and shouts before the music begins blasting again and everyone continues their party.

"i loooouve youar ricary.", nini mumbles.

the boy chuckles, "i love you neens."
