#13- first christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!! i hope you had a beautiful day whether you celebrate or not!!!

here's a lovely one shot to finish off the day :))

this christmas is a special one for ricky and nini. it's the first christmas where their daughter is old enough to participate in all the normal and memorable parts of christmas.

the family sits at their dining table, feasting on a christmas eve meal of...spaghetti. it's their favorite so they don't mind.

"you have to get to bed early tonight rylie.", nini smiles at her daughter.

"santa won't come if you're awake.", ricky adds, raising his eyebrows.

their daughter's face turns up into a giddy smile. she's been writing letters to santa all december long and has been so anxious for christmas day to arrive. she quickly finishes the rest of her dinner and then nini wipes her hands and mouth with a towel.

"i'll do bath and bed, you do house clean up?", nini asks her husband.

he nods and kisses her cheek before moving into the kitchen to wash dishes. nini picks rylie up and they walk up the stairs, into her bathroom. nini starts the bath water before helping rylie brush her teeth.

when the water gets warm enough, rylie is placed in with a couple toys. nini let's her play while she picks out christmas pjs for her to wear. when she arrives back in the bathroom, she washes rylie's curly brunette hair and washes her body too.

after rinsing all the soap off and finishing the cleaning of her daughter, nini lifts her out and wraps her in a red and green colored towel. rylie giggles as her mom ruffles up her hair to dry it.

nini laughs along with her and helps her get dressed. she hangs the towel up and rylie runs over to the door of her room. when nini arrives next to her the two walk down the stairs and into the kitchen. ricky is wiping down the counters when the two girls walk in and he smiles.

"we need to put cookies and milk out!", rylie grins.

nini grabs a plate and glass from the cabinet and sets it on the counter. ricky grabs their tupperware box that contains the decorated sugar cookies and opens it for rylie. she picks out two cookies and plops them on the plate. she then helps nini pour milk into the glass.

when everything is prepared, rylie helps carry the plate and glass over to the fireplace that is next to the christmas tree. they set it down, below the stockings and rylie jumps up and down with excitement.

"okay you better get to bed!", ricky exclaims, "unless you don't want presents..."

rylie pouts and shakes her head, "no! no! i want toys!"

the two parents laugh at their daughter and ricky scoops her up in his arms and she squeals with laughter. he runs up the stairs with his daughter in his arms.

nini follows the two into rylie's bedroom and ricky places rylie down on the bed. he then looks at his wife and nods his head to their bedroom. nini smiles and nods before picking out a book from the shelves and sitting down next to rylie. snuggling up on her mother, nini opens the book and begins reading the classic the night before christmas.

as she reads off the last words, she hears the faint snoring of her daughter fast asleep. she gently removes her body from under rylie and tucks her in.

she exits her bedroom and walks into her and ricky's room where he's in the bathroom. nini walks in and hugs him quickly before she starts taking her makeup off and preparing for bed.
