#7- songs in a diner

HEYOO!!! this is the first one shooooot while i'm on vacation :)) the other three i have will be posted tuesday, thursday, and then saturday!!

"Niniiiii!", Gina squeals, pushing through the entrance door to Nini's family diner.

"Ginaaaaa!", Nini smiles, running from around the counter.

The two girls hug before taking a quick breath, chuckling.

"The rest might be coming. They got stuck doing some after school work...so I'm not really sure.", Gina quietly chuckles.

Nini presses her lips together, holding in her laugh, "I'm sure they're happy about that."

Gina nods and laughs. The two best friends begin to catch up on their days. Although they did go to school together, today was a Friday and on Friday's Nini does all her school online so she can work at the diner her family owns. Friday's were their busiest day of the week...along with the weekends. They were in fact one of the most popular diners in the area. They sit down at a booth and Gina rambles on and on about the most random things that happened at school.

"And he said yes?!", Nini exclaims.

"I know right! I totally thought EJ would reject me when I asked to go on a date!", Gina squeals, "I'm so excited!"

"Where are you guys going?!", Nini asks, eager to know.

"We're uh- kinda coming to the diner...", Gina says.

"He's bringing you...to the diner? Listen...I love you for wanting to give us business but girl- it's a first date...", Nini chuckles.

"He said he loves it though! And he said he just wants to make sure I'll enjoy it.", Gina whines.

"Fine fine. Whatever pleases your heart. What time? I'm gonna have to meet this man."

"Around 6"

Nini nods her head, "Sounds-"

"Neens!", Carol shouts, peeking her head out of the kitchen doors.

"Coming!", Nini shouts back, sliding out of the booth.

Nini runs into the kitchen of the diner, seeing Carol and Dana staring at a bright phone screen. Nini catches her breath before looking at her mom's confused.

"What's wrong?", she asks.

"Nothing...nothing is wrong. This- this is great!", Dana cheers.

The entire staff that was in the kitchen all began to chatter and cheer at whatever information has been told. Nini stood there, looking around at everyone, still confused as to what was happening.

"Someone wanna tell me what happened?!", she shouts, interrupting the moment.

"Sorry...so, good news. You won't have to sing all night for the customers today or tomorrow!", Carol smiles.

"And...why's that?", Nini questions.

"Ricky Bowen is in town...and his manager set up a time with us! He's singing live here!", Dana cheers.

Nini's jaw drops, and she looks at them wide-eyed.

"Are you serious?! I love his music!", Nini exclaims.

Her mom's chuckle at her as the brunette haired girl makes a run for it out of the room. She slides back into the booth, out of breath, catching Gina by surprise.
