Latibule
~Everyone deserves a break, even if it's just a little~~
Sunoo dribbles the ball, aims, and~ shoots. It was close, but it bounced off the board. He nibbles on his lower lip and watches the ball roll far, far away. Though he misses, a fellow would cheer him on from afar with his two fists pumping the air, mouthing a word of encouragement.
The youngster must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed as his mood wasn't quite right. He could not move the way he wanted either.
It pissed him off.
His temper wasn't so great to deal with, yet he managed to shoot Jake a smile and moved on to picking the ball up. His mood had to get better, whether he liked it or not.
He walks to a bench where all the bottles of water are situated and downs his jug, finishing almost half of it. Sunoo arrived surprisingly early, which meant that only a few, around five, were doing their own thing. All you could hear were the balls colliding with the ground and the squeaking of their shoes as they sprinted.
Sunoo felt like he had been working out over his limit before practice even started. A consequence of being a sloth for years and finding nothing healthier to do. He grouses to himself and finds an unoccupied bench to lay on with his eyes closed, hoping that this feeling disappears once he flutters his eyes open and acts as if nothing happened.
The boy felt someone's presence approach him along with the hums of an unfamiliar melody. With the way the person came close with hesitance, his eyes had to flicker open to see who decided to draw near him.
Once taking sight of the being, he pats on the bench where his head supposedly rested and waits for the person to sit.
"That feels better."
Sunoo expressed as he adjusted, liking what his head set down on compared to when the bench was all he had. The wood gives him no justice but a place to rest for the time being. He laid his head on Jake's lap while the latter played with his hair, still humming that unfamiliar melody that he could not decode. Or maybe Jake hummed it wrong, making Sunoo titter out of nowhere.
They enjoyed their non-chaotic bonding time. It was just the two and the comfortable quietness. Well, besides the surroundings they've chosen to drown out.
While Sunoo rested his head on Jake's lap, the latter spectated a match that started between four people. His hand must have gone limp and fallen to his side, causing the other to carry it back to his head.
"Don't fall asleep, okay?"
Jake brushes his fingers through Sunoo's hair. Very soft. Downy. With his slug state and the caress of his hair, his eyes could not stay open any longer. He only responds with a nod. To not utter a simple word that he found exhausting.
"You must be worn out."
Jake sympathized, continuing his pats on the head of the younger male. It took him back to when the two were young. Sunoo would rather nap than play outside with the other kids, but Jake was the opposite. Though he would love to play than sit around, he often chose to stay with Sunoo, patting his head like in the present. Something his parents used to do until they could not find the time to do so.The snooze Sunoo took made him feel rehabilitated, but guilt loomed over. Jake sat throughout the wait, unable to sprint around or practice because he fell asleep.
It is inevitable in a state like that.
The male he felt guilt toward assures him not to feel that way and that he too needs a brief rest from everything. He would stare off into the distance and get a bit of shuteye.
