Note: This is all I wrote a few months ago. Really short but I'll continue it eventually. I hope you enjoy!

Many things have been left unsaid that day.
Jake knew that, but there was nothing to prove other than the fact that Sunoo wouldn't mind certain things.
He was in ecstasy that day, feeling more than alive until he had to leave, placing his bum on the car with an obvious view of displeasure on his face. The boy wanted to linger more, to pester his friend, but there was a test he needed to study on and ace it like he promised.
Jake's mother had two goals in mind. The first one is to be a great, attentive mother. She wanted to make up for her absences by showing up when she wasn't in demand, but it just so happens that she's the most needed on the important dates.
The second goal is for her son to be the top student, or at least a part of that group of intellectuals. She wanted to be guaranteed that he'd have a great future with close-to-perfect grades on a piece of paper, but would it really determine that? Are high grades all one needs?
Now in his room, slumped on his desk with a pen in hand, ballpoint exposed to the air. Jake could not bring himself to proceed in going over his review as his mind was occupied with other things. A question, rather.
'I'm about to be in college. What will I choose then?'
Knowing the months till his graduation draws near, even by days, it eats him alive, his conscience being gnawed on like a leech. He knew there would be a parent-child conference meeting in a few months, but what will he say? What will they ask?
Will they hold another career path forum for him to answer?
That was quite a pain in the butt with how long it took, not knowing how long he'd spend studying on an average. There are oftentimes he'd forget to stop, but also prioritises entertainment on the other hand. Questions like that took him a while.
Jake frantically checked the rectangular-shaped LED alarm clock placed near the edge of his desk. 'I'm going to study in five minutes.' He told himself, more like to convince as he said that many five minutes ago.
It bothered him that he was in this state. He shouldn't be and it was not in his character either, especially after a great discovery, but here he his, slumped over his desk, allowing precious time to slip through his fingers like it didn't matter to him.
