~ Was he bothered? Slightly. ~Sunoo
~
Waking up with a headache was not so great for Sunoo. A ray of sunlight squeezed its way through the blinds, causing him to squint in response. If glaring at the narrowly opened blinds was not the first thing Sunoo thought of, he would not have reacted like a vampire while large pools of blue iris blinded his sight.
Whilst wandering around his room aimlessly in an attempt to sober up from the drowsiness that itches him to lay down and sleep, he made his way to the bathroom and washed his face. A splash of water was something he picked up from his mother whenever he saw her on the brink of falling asleep after a long tiring day.
To his luck, he was up and ready after the temptation of lazing around to eventually drift off to dreamland.
"Better than taking a bus~"
Sunoo grins while enjoying the breeze hitting his face. Instead of taking the bus, he chose to ride his bike. It was a simple form of exercise he took joy in as he transported. At least he wouldn't have to worry about missing the bus again. The nerves started to kick in once he noticed the closing distance between him and the school. His anxiety provoked his stomach to churn. Hoping the unsettling feeling in his abdomen stops, he idles on the sidewalk to take a breather.
What sounds like a bike screams to a halt beside Sunoo. "I can't tell if you want to go to the bathroom or..."
The boy turns his head to the person beside him. A grimaced expression spreads onto his face the moment he realizes who it was. "Good Morning to you too, Yuna.." he greets with indifference and walks away with his bike.
"Aww, can't you act a bit excited at least?"
His slow and careful pace allowed her to catch up despite being left behind chuckling by herself. While Yuna was letting out a few giggles here and there, Sunoo couldn't help but have a bit of laughter falling out. There was a time when the two struggled to interact publicly. Having to defend the friendship by saying it is strictly platonic was exhilarating. It was somewhat normalized to mistake friendships between opposite genders as more than what meets the eye.
It's over now.
Alas, they have finally reached the school grounds with students walking around to kill time. Sunoo and Yuna locked their bikes while making sure stealing would be a struggle, bid each other goodbye and parted ways as usual.
Sunoo took a deep breath before heading in, still nervous about the results that'd be plastered somewhere in the school. Whilst hesitating to keep moving forward, a hand waves in front of his face. "What took you so long? I thought we'd look at the results together." A smile was evident in their tone.
Taken by surprise, Sunoo looks up to catch sight of a bright and warm smile from Hyunjin that calms the tense and nervous feeling he had. A big smile took over the frown he had seconds ago after feeling assured with the person beside him.
The two stare at the board with evident frowns on their faces while Yeonjun nods with a smile. "What are you both upset about? Shouldn't you be happy?" Was he bothered? Slightly. It was embarrassing to be the odd one out, but that was it. He was just ashamed.
"That's a bummer... I feel like eating grilled pork belly now."
Yeonjun snickered at what Sunoo had said and wrapped his arms around his shoulders. He wondered why they seemed more melancholy than him. They were chosen. So, why..?
