Patrick's finally at home, lying on his bed.

He's trying call Cyril but it seems that he isn't picking up.

"C'mon Cyril pick up!"

Suddenly there was a knock on the door.

"Enter."

Esther opens the door.

"Son."

"Oh..."

Patrick puts down his phone.

"So... How's the party?"

"I'm not here to talk about the party. I just want to know... what's going on with you right now?"

"It's... My friend. His name is Cyril."

"The gay guy?"

"Ma. He's more than that. He actually helped in preparing for tonight's ball. I invited him to attend because why not? He deserved to be at the ball tonight as well."

"But in the process, you left Valerie all alone? And of all the people you'd ditch her for, it had to be that person? That gay guy?"

"Ma!"

He slaps the table next to his bed as he shouted that.

Esther's reproach continued.

"And instead of dancing with her for the rest of the night, you decided to dance with that guy?"

"Hey, I danced with both of them."

"But tell me the truth, does this Cyril guy even know about your engagement?"

"No, ma. I didn't tell him. He only found out when Ninang announced it to the guests."

"Oh, so was that the reason why he ran away from you? Because he found out that you kept something from him?"

Patrick stays silent for a moment.

He then softly answers his mother's question.

"Yes."

"Okay, Patrick. Why did you do that? Why didn't you tell him about your engagement?"

"Because!"

Patrick suddenly threw his pillow and hit his lampshade.

He turns to the other side and shouted loudly.

"AAAAHHHH!!"

Esther realized what his son was feeling.

"You like him... Don't you? That's why you didn't tell him."

Slowly he would look at his mother again,

"And so? What if I did it because of that?"

"Patrick. Let me remind you. You are getting married to Valerie. Think about what your godfather and godmother would think if they found out that you want to ditch her for someone else. Heck even for another guy! Another guy Patrick!"

"But have you ever considered my own feelings? You and dad never asked me on what I wanted to do with my life!"

While the mother and son were debating in his room, Melanie was secretly listening to the conversation in the corner.

Patrick suddenly comes out of his room and Esther follows him.

"Patrick!"

Melanie approaches Esther to accompany her.

"Well it seems that he took it... Very well."

"Mel... How long have you been there?"

"Long enough to know what you guys were talking about."

Esther places her palm on her face.

"You know, I have a suggestion. How about we prepone the wedding?" Melanie suggested.

"Mel, I'm not sure about that. Not now, since Patrick's head is still hot."

"Don't worry, Benjamin and I will talk to him. But I really think we should make the wedding earlier. Think about it, if he continues having these feelings for the guy that he danced with, then there won't be a wedding. Think about it very well, Esther. "

Esther pondered about it.

"Okay, I'll... try to talk to the people in charge of the wedding. I'll see what they can do in order to prepare everything earlier."

"Excellent."

Melanie looks at the clock.

"Okay Esther, I have to go now. Thanks for inviting me by the way."

Esther and Melanie say goodbye to each other.

"Of course, see you soon."
