The next day.
11:30 AM.
The Arpias and Soledads will have a meeting about Patrick and Valerie's wedding, as well as about the celebration for the Soledads 'wedding anniversary this coming Saturday.
Melanie, Benjamin and Valerie arrived at the Soledads' mansion in their van.
Esther, Erwin and Patrick meet up with the Arpias.
The Arpias get out of the van and Melanie greets her friends.
"Erwin! Esther dear!"
The parents of both families greet each other with kisses, hugs and handshakes, while Valerie and Patrick remain awkward.
"Hi."
Valerie greeted Patrick softly.
"Hey."
He answers back.
Melanie approaches her godson.
"Patrick dear! How are you!"
"It's okay ninang! Hi ninong!"
He kissed and blessed his godfather and godmother.
Valerie does the same to Esther and Erwin.
"So, let's proceed to the meeting room?"
Esther invites everyone after greeting each other.
"Yes! I'm so excited!"
Melanie happily answers.
The families go to the meeting room of the mansion and sat on the chairs with the table arranged for them.
Some of the things that are included inside is a projector positioned in the center of the table and a projector screen placed in front of them.
The Soledads, Arpias and other wedding organizers gathered to discuss Patrick and Valerie's wedding.
Melanie stands up, move to the front and start discussing her ideas for the wedding.
"So, I was thinking, how about we hold the wedding at our resort? After all, we are aiming for something exotic for this wedding right?"
Esther looks at Patrick and Valerie.
She then inserts a comment.
"Umm Mel? Don't you think it's more elegant if they get married inside a church instead? Because, seriously? At the resort? I mean... Think about it."
"And why not Esther? This is the wedding of the century! Churches are cliche! How about we spice it up a little?"
Erwin enters the conversation.
"Actually Mel, I have to agree with my wife here. Because, if I have to remind you, your daughter will be the one who will claim our last name. Not the other way around. And also, it's a tradition for our family to get married inside the church."
A moment of silence entered the room for contemplation.
"So I guess, maybe for a little respect for the ones that came before us?"
Erwin adds.
Melanie's eyes widened, and she proceeds to shift her attention on Valerie.
"Yeah ma, don't you think it's more solemn if it's held inside the church?"
Valerie commented on her mother's idea.
Melanie looked a little annoyed.
"Well, I just want the best for my daughter and my godson."
While there is tension going on with the elders, Patrick on the other hand is texting Cyril about their meeting at 5pm.
"5 PM okay?"
Message sent to Cyril.
Going back to Melanie, she decides to go with the flow of the meeting and not object, despite clearly wanting to do so.
"Fine, have it your way. After all, you are the one who are contributing the most to this wedding."
Esther felt pleased with her friend's answer.
"Thank you Mel."
Melanie sits down right next to Benjamin.
Benjamin consoles his wife.
"It's okay dear, I'll take care of it."
Benjamin stands.
"Okay, so for the catering and the reception-"
He could hear Patrick texting.
"Uhh Patrick, can't you listen for a moment?"
"Ahh, sorry ninong! I was just texting some people to help for the preparations later."
Esther was amazed at what she heard.
"You found a venue already, son?"
"Yes mommy. I have also met some good people who are willing to help."
"Oh that's great!"
"But Elijah and I also need extra help, because the venue is too big."
Esther took note of her son's need.
"Sure son, I'll see what I can do."
Melanie interjects.
"Well we look forward to what you guys have in store. Just make sure that apart from your parents' celebration, you are also doing it for the wedding, okay Patrick?"
Patrick grows silent for a moment before answering.
"Yes, ninang."
Melanie nods, and gives Benjamin a gesture for him to continue.
"Well ... I guess we can proceed now. Okay Patrick?" Benjamin asked his godson.
"Yes ninong."
"Okay... So as I was saying..."
