THE BOSS

This was not good. Definitely not good. The fact that Mr. Chang's inside man had disappeared from the radar was concerning. This means that Aisha was exposed and vulnerable. Unaware of the danger she was in. We had to go and get her immediately.

And if Kazuo Akuji – Shogo's father – was truly as dangerous as Chang had said then we were truly fucked.

After we had heard the news from Shaundi, all contemplating what she had said, thinking about our way to deal with it for a while, Johnny jumped up and grabbed his jacket and keys, ready to leave.

"Hey! Where do you think you're going?"

I asked as I raised myself off the sofa as well. I had taken off my blazer and gloves, having the sleeves of my black shirt rolled up and the dark green dress underneath almost falling off my shoulders by its straps. My weapons were now exposed in their holsters. One near my chest and the other on my hip.

"To get Eesh, of course."

He snapped and continued to walk towards the door. I hurried on after him and held onto his big upper arm, my hand barely even enclosing half of it. He turned and looked at me with furrowed eyebrows from underneath the sunglasses. I had never seen his eyes, I realized...

"I am outraged that you even thought about having to do this alone."

I said and was more than happy to his angry face soften back into his 24/7 grumpiness.

"Thanks Boss."

He said and turned back to leave, me following him closely. I took my own keys out of a bowl on the shoe cabinet. I closed the door behind.

"Of course, Johnny. You've been gone too long. And Aisha is my friend too... We'll go and get her home safely, I'm sure of it!"

Together, we walked to my car and both of us got in front. It was good to be driving myself again. The fear I had always had when getting into a car was like flushed away overnight. Now, driving was like riding a bike; one doesn't even really notice doing it.

It was basically the same drive like towards the casino. The only difference was that I had to took a left turn after the highway instead of a right. We were soon faced by beautiful suburban and typically American houses on both sides of the car. Aisha is living in one of them. Number 78a. And we knew exactly which one it was, long before we saw the number.

When we pulled into the driveway, Johnny was already up and ready to storm into the house as the door lay wide open. I tried to remain as calm as I could which proved more difficult than I had thought. At least I was able to keep Johnny calm.

We got out of the car, our weapons at the ready. Me with my two pistols and him with a small shotgun. We snuck to the door and on first sight, the house seemed desolate although the light was burning. Perhaps they had taken her? Johnny was ready to barge in but I stopped him. We had to keep sneaking should this be a trap.

Inside it was quiet too. We snuck around the corner behind a wall and I made sure that we were seen should anyone hide here. I also made sure to strafe my gun against the wall to make a sound and warn the intruders about our arrival and their certain death.

"JOHNNY! IT'S A TRA-"

We heard her scream until she was cut off by the air being broken. A thud and the sound of a football rolling around on the ground followed. Fuck it, not the best imagery there... Now, not even I could stop the raging beast called Johnny. By the Virtues, even I was failing. She could not have. The Sins are getting out of hand here. Not a single thing was working...
