as soon as colby left, amy walked in.

she was holding a gold box with a darker gold bow decorating it.

"mom, look at what i got you!" she said, but paused when her mother turned around.

eva was holding a blow torch. and her face was covered by a metal mask.

she had attempted to melt the helmet off, and i tried to cut it off, which explained the knife on the table.

"what's with the.. stuff?" amy moved her hand in a circle, pointing it at the items.

"colby's still stuck in that big ass helmet. his outfits already look horrible, but the purple and orange is really bringing out the bad taste." i said, thinking about colby's disgusting outfit.

"you know, just mom life." eva took off the mask.

"adulting." i said.

"well, happy mother's day, mom!" amy set the box on the table.

"a gift? for me?"

the older woman placed a hand on her heart, acting as if she'd just walked into a surprise party she already knew about.
