My aunt moved to Spain two years ago to accomplish her dreams, owning a smoothie shop in Barcelona. She had been searching for the perfect building for 9 months before moving there. She bought a two story corner shop right by the boardwalk, the closest shop to the boardwalk in fact. The smoothie shop viewed the beach, ocean, and boardwalk. She used the bottom floor as the smoothie shop and the top as an apartment to live in. She spent all her savings to move across the world, and her smoothie was doing better than expected. My aunt couldn't handle the smoothie shop by herself, and that is why I flew to Barcelona.

She had convinced my mom to let me fly out to Barcelona for a week to help in the smoothie shop. I her never left the country nor been on a plane, and I was flying to another continent by myself at 16. My aunt met me at the airport and took me back to her smoothie shop-apartment combo. We got there at sunrise and the view was gorgeous. She took me up to the apartment and I put my luggage in the spare bedroom. I got to Spain on a Sunday, so the smoothie shop was closed. It was the perfect day for my aunt to teach me how to make smoothies, treat customers, and all the other details to work at her shop. We got started at 7 A.M, the same time the shop would open. We spent the whole day making smoothies, wiping tables, doing dishes, and practicing using the register. We were finally done at 7 P.M, even though the shop would actually stay open till 10 P.M.

When we went upstairs to the apartment my aunt was ready to go to bed but knew that I wasn't because of the time change. She handed me twenty euros and told me to go out and explore. I was kind of nervous to explore the city by myself but I took it as an opportunity to maybe meet some new people and discover new places. My mom definitely wouldn't be happy with this but what would she know, she is halfway across the world. I dropped a pin at the smoothie shop so I could make my way back in case I got lost. I left the apartment with the money, my bag, and a light jacket. I just went wherever my eyes took me.

I ended up at a small boutique and a shell necklace caught my eye. I bought it and has 15 euros left. It was still light out so I wandered toward an oceanfront strip of houses. There had to be the most eye catching houses I have ever seen. They were huge houses with pools, hot tubs, golf carts,  decks, baloneys, and many, many people. The ocean view was amazing. People were out surfing massive waves, with the sunset behind them. I continued walking and found a public sidewalk in between the houses and the ocean. I walked past a house with a family sitting outside watching the sunset. There was a boy who was about my age who looked familiar. I couldn't keep my eyes off him as I walked by, trying to figure out who it was. He didn't notice I was looking at him so I couldn't get a good view of his face.

Once I reached the end of the sidewalk, I turned around. The sun was still setting and had gorgeous pinks and purples. I was walking by the house again trying to see if that boy was there. I was trying so hard to put a name to his face but I just couldn't. He wasn't on his deck anymore, so I kept walking. I went to a different area of the neighborhood and a swim shop caught my eye. I don't know how much 15 euros can get me but it looks like a really cute shop. I went inside the snorkels were the first thing I saw , so I walked over to them. Snorkeling didn't even interest me, so I starting looking around the store and saw a whole wall of swimsuits.

I walked over to the swimsuits and realized that they were all hand made, but were within my budget. I starting looking at all the racks, and at a rack near the back of the store there was that boy from earlier. I really wanted to know who it was because they looked so familiar, so I went to the rack next to him. I couldn't see his face so I just started looking through the rack and found a red halter top bikini with matching bottoms. It was my size and I really liked it. I grabbed it off the rack and started walking to the dressing room .

I tried it on and it fit perfectly.  I walked to the register and they said within 30 minutes of closing all suits and buy one get one free. I walked back over to the swimsuit racks to try and find another swim suit. I noticed that the boy was gone. I might run into him again if I keep taking walks on this side of the city. I found a floral print triangle bikini in my size. I walked back up to the register and paid for my swim suit. I might have to come back tomorrow and get more if they are buy one get one every night before closing. I walked out of the store and the sun was fully set.

I walked over to a bench facing the ocean. There was a street light above me so I could see the ocean waves. There were some people surfing and night swimming. I was looking at all the pictures I took that day on my phone when the boy that looked familiar starting walking up to me. I still couldn't tell who he was till he was under the streetlight. That boy was Wade Meyer from my high school.

So, how do you like it so far, I would love feedback!
