SURVIVOR'S GUILT
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

KOHAKU HAD separated ways with Madara in the middle of the forest, as much as he'd like to go with him, there are lives in jeopardy. He always trusted his gut feeling, most of the times they were scarcely accurate to correlate to his feelings, but now, he loathed the gut feeling tormenting in his chest. He ran and ran through the forest, calling out Anzu's name, under the hopeful impression that Lilic is occupied by you and his partner.

It wasn't long before Kohaku's starting to see a blurry vision in front of him. A blurry vision he did not want to accept.

Your father— standing at a distance with a gun in hand, Anzu leant against a tree tied up with a handkerchief wrapped around her mouth. There's no injuries on her, that was alleviating, but your father did not look so well himself. He was anything but himself— his hair messy, sweating, and there was... Kohaku was in disbelief seeing thin lines of blood trail down from his exhausted eyes.

"Anzu." Kohaku mouthed from behind the man as he crept up on him. Anzu made a moment's eye contact with him, eyes filling with relief at the same time trepidation much more than before. Kohaku has confidence in his stealth, and he's certain that nobody will ever feel his presence in these times. Except, when someone was poisoned under mind control, their senses mold uncontrollably, and before Kohaku could make another move, the gun became directed to his youthful face.

"Mmmm!" Anzu shook against the tree, yelled as if that was going to stop your father from pulling the trigger.

"You're... not s-supposed to be here, young boy." The man croaked out. Kohaku gazed at the arm that was holding the gun. He raised his brows as his hands lifted up in defense. It's awfully noticeable that it isn't only the man's arm shaking, but almost his entire body seems unstable. "Sir—"

"Lilic will kill all of you if you stay here." Your father's warning him, not threatening him. Kohaku trusted that theory, and so he did what he could only hope could work.

"Don't say that, L/n-han..you don't want Lilic to kill your daughter." Kohaku took a step closer. A disturbance fell upom his shoulders, debating whether or not your father would ever have the solidity to kill someone . Perhaps if it's for his family, he may be capable of murder, so Kohaku jumped for the risk anyways.

"F/n? No, Lilic—...she promised she wouldn't kill F/n in exchange for A-anzu's life." The manms voice is trembling, but not in a way that sounded like he was going to breakdown. In the background, Anzu kept crying through the handkerchief stuffed in her mouth. She's probably shouting for Kohaku to run away. He couldn't do that, even if it was for the best— he couldn't accept that it was for the best.
