the following morning, Katie felt all bubbly and happy. not because Taylor was leaving, but because of her night with Jeremiah. sure, they didn't do anything more than make out at the party, but she felt great.

Katie laid in her bed when she woke up, smiling at her phone as a few people sent photos from the party. one was of her and Conrad playing pong (and winning of course), another one was of her and Jeremiah singing, and then of course a video of it all.

it was still early in the morning, so Katie didn't know who would be awake beside laurel and belly since they were out driving Taylor to the bus station. Katie wanted to go to cvs so she could print copies of the photos to add to her mirror, so she texted Jeremiah asking if he wanted to come.

a minute later, he texted back a thumbs up.

Katie took about five minutes to get ready, her hair surprisingly being the simplest part of her morning since it was still straight. when she was done, she went to Jeremiahs room and knocked on the door.

a faint groan came from in his room, meaning he wasn't even awake.

"jere.." Katie said as she slowly opened the door. sure enough, he was still half asleep in his bed wearing only a pair of shorts. "im leaving in five minutes if you want to come. we can stop for muffins."

that was enough to get him up. the boy sat up with his feet hanging off of the bed, holding his arms out. Katie laughed, giving the hug he silently requested. "how are you away this early?" he asked in his morning voice, grabbing a t-shirt from his drawer.

"the tension between belly and Taylor woke me up. Steven never told me what happened." Katie said, "do you know what happened?"

Jeremiah laughed as he ruffled up his hair before following Katie out of the room. "oh you'll shit yourself when you hear this." he said, "bells caught them making out."

Katies eyes went wide. "no way." she said in pure shock. "when did you find out?"

"I found Steven and asked him while you were playing pong." he said, tossing Katie the keys to the jeep. "im too tired to drive, she's all yours."

when they got to cvs, Katie went right to the photo section while Jeremiah roamed around the store filling a basket with snacks. this was why the moms never let them go anywhere alone, they spend their money on junk.

Katie selected the photos from her phone that she wanted to print, smiling as she found a few other hidden gems in her camera roll.

"yeah and he just shoved me for no reason." she heard a voice complaining to someone else entering the store. can I please just catch a break, she said to herself, recognizing mikes voice.

Katie hardly knew the guy, yet he's become such a downer in terms of her summer. everywhere she goes, he's also there. plus its eight in the morning, why would him and his friends be awake?

luckily, Jeremiah got over to Katie before he saw them. "where'd you get those from?" he asked, pointing at the photos from last night. "I want one."

"one of the debs sent them to me, I think it was Dara." Katie smiled, pressing the '+1' button for the photo Jeremiah wanted. "I've gotta add to my mirror, every summer needs at least one new picture."

Jeremiah smiled, putting his arm around her waist while his other hand held the basket.

Katie peeked at the basket after grabbing all of her photos, seeing a bag of m&m's. "those better be for me." she smirked.

"well to be fair, your bag was half empty when Steven and I found it..." he began, just teasing her.

they got to the self checkout so they wouldn't have to wait for a slow employee to scan everything. Katie was trying to speed it up while Jeremiah just took his time. "you alright?" he asked with a laugh.
