Stefan takes drastic measures to find out the real reason Katherine has returned to Mystic Falls, and is shocked when she reveals new secrets about what really happened in 1864. Damon tries a new tactic to resolve his issues with Mason, but it proves costly. Tyler pushes Mason to tell him the truth about the Lockwoods. Finally, when Katherine delivers an ultimatum, Stefan and Ellie are left with very few options.
*Flashback...*
Lockwood Mansion, 1864...
Stefan and Katherine were dancing together.
"Look who found his dancing shoes."
He went to kiss her when she moved back.
"Ah. No touching, Mr. Salvatore. Those are the rules."
"I thought you didn't believe in rules." He says.
Stefan looked over at Damon, who stood to the side.
"My brother's still upset that you chose me to escort you." He tells her.
"Well, Damon needs to concede... that his younger brother is a better dancer. Looks like he found someone to occupy his time."
He looked over to Damon, seeing Ellie stand in front of him, and they held hands.
Ellie looked over at Stefan, smiling.
"Ellie." Said Stefan.
Stefan went to walk over to her when Katherine stopped him.
"Stefan, don't." Katherine tells him.
He removed Katherine's hand from his chest, not listening, and he watched Damon and Ellie walk away.
He walked quicker to see them go into a room, and the doors shut.
"Ellie." Stefan says.
He opened the door, walked through it, and entered the Grill.
He looked down, and the olden days' clothes had disappeared, and he wore a dark grey shirt.
He saw Ellie standing beside the pool table, staring at him.
"It's your turn." She said, smiling, holding the pool stick out to him.
Stefan watched as Damon walked over to her.
"Be prepared to lose."
Stefan then watched them kiss, and he wore a heartbroken look on his face.
