Summer Meeting

Errands

Shinji stopped walking, he remembered he had things he had to do today, which was a shame, he would have loved to keep listening to Kaworu talk.
"What is it?" Kaworu stopped too.
"I've got some things I have to do today..." Shinji said, "So I guess we should part ways here.."
Kaworu frowned, "Could I come with you?"
"H-huh?" Shinji looked up at him, "B-but I'm just running errands..."
"I don't mind." Kaworu smiled, "If I'm with you, then I don't care what I'm doing."
Shinji blushed a little.
"I could even help you out." Kaworu suggested.
"B-but... that would be a hassel for you..." Shinji looked down. He didn't have many errands to run, but he did have some cleaning to do back at home and he didn't need Kaworu to see what a mess his house was.
"It wouldn't be a hassel." Kaworu said, he was being serious.
"F-fine... " Shinji gave in.
"Great." Kaworu smiled, he was excited to spend even more time with Shinji.

Shinji began to take the lead, which felt a little weird, yesterday and this morning Kaworu had been leading the way.
Not long after he began to lead the way, they arrived at the grocery store.
Shinji didn't have much money, but what he did have usually went towards shopping for food, as his father never bothered to do it.

They walked around the store, Shinji held a basket in his hand. He was looking for any sort of deals they had going on, it made it easier to shop if he could get it cheaper.
Kaworu continued to talk to him, even as Shinji continued to run his errands.
It only took about an hour or so to finish up all Shinji had to do while out of the house.

"Y-you didn't have to help me carry them inside.." Shinji slightly protested as Kaworu sat the bags on the kitchen table.
"But I did. It was the least I could do." Kaworu smiled.
Shinji frowned, "But you didn't..."
He sighed and began putting the groceries away. There was no point in arguing about what had already been done.
And he didn't want to annoy Kaworu with his whining.
Kaworu stood, just watching Shinji. He liked looking at Shinji.

Shinji finished putting the groceries away and noticed Kaworu had wandered into a different room.
Shinji walked into the living room. Kaworu  was leaning down and looking at a photo which sat on the side table next to the couch.
Shinji just stood there, he knew what photo he was looking at.
It was an old family photo, from when he was little. Those were happy times.
Kaworu noticed Shinji and turned to look at him, "Sorry, I couldn't help but want to look around."
"I-it's fine..." Shinji said, the only reason he kept that photo was cause it was the only one of his mother he had. Otherwise he would have tossed it out long ago.
"You were a cute child." Kaworu chuckled.
"I-I was not! " Shinji glared at him.
His upsetness at the photo faded.
"You're still cute now too." Kaworu smiled at him.
"S-stop that..." Shinji's face went pink, "I'm not c-cute.. and boys shouldn't call other boys cute..."
"Sorry. I didn't mean to upset you." Kaworu walked over to him and gently placed his hand on Shinji's head, ruffling his hair a little.
Shinji pulled away, he was flustered and a little upset.
He took a couple seconds to be angry before taking a deep breath.
He glanced at the clock that hung on the wall behind Kaworu.
It was almost 1.

"Ah... K-Kaworu.." Shinji hesitated.
"Yes?" Kaworu looked at him.
"It's about... it's about lunch time and umm..." Shinji didn't look at Kaworu, he fumbled with his hands, "If you're hungry.. I could m-make something... since y-you helped with groceries.."
Kaworu smiled, he seemed overjoyed, "A home cooked meal from my favorite person sounds wonderful. I'll take you up on that."
Shinji blushed again, but he smiled a little too, "Alright.."
Does he really mean that I'm his favorite person? He couldn't.. we barely know eachother..

Shinji shook the negative thoughts away, he wanted to focus on the good things right now, because if he didn't enjoy them now, he wouldn't get to later because sooner than later Kaworu was going to get fed up with him.
