They sat in silence for a couple moments, just letting the fact that Kaworu was staying the night settle in.
Shinji glanced at the clock. It was 7:30 ish.
He felt a little awkward, he wasn't sure what to do now.
"Should we have dinner?" Kaworu broke the silence.
Shinji looked at him, "Y-yeah.."
He got up from the couch and made his way for the kitchen.
Kaworu followed him.
"I..." Shinji stammered, "What would you like?"
Kaworu thought a moment before for smiling, "I don't care what we have."
"That's real helpful." Shinji huffed.
He didn't feel like cooking something grand, so he figured spaghetti would be fine.

"Do you need any help?" Kaworu asked.
"N-no.." Shinji shook his head.
He flicked the stove on and sat the pot of water on it.
He quickly found a jar of sauce in one of the cabinets and sat it on the counter.
Kaworu watched intently as Shinji shuffled around the kitchen and cooked them dinner.

They sat at the table and ate. Kaworu complemented Shinji's cooking abilities.
"You're so good at cooking. It's delicious." Kaworu smiled.
"It's not impressive..." Shinji mumbled, "Anyone could do it.."
"I can't even make toast, so I think it's impressive." Kaworu said seriously.
"What?" Shinji raised an eyebrow and looked at him, he was in disbelief, "How do you fail at making toast?"
"I'm not sure." Kaworu shrugged, "It always ends up burnt."
Shinji laughed a little bit.
Kaworu felt his face get a little pink.
His heart fluttered a little, this was the first time he'd heard Shinji laugh. He thought it was a very cute laugh.
He pouted a little, "Don't laugh at me.."
Shinji stopped and looked at his plate, "I-I'm sorry.."
Kaworu looked at him, "Don't be."

They chatted a little more as they finished eating.
Shinji went to wash the dishes then joined Kaworu in the living room.
"S-should we watch something? Or we could go to sleep.." Shinji stood behind the couch.
"Hm.." Kaworu thought a moment, "We could watch one more movie and then go to bed."
Shinji nodded, "Alright.."
And that's exactly what they did, they watched another movie before heading to Shinji's bedroom.

"I think you'll fit in my clothes..." Shinji said as he entered his bedroom.
"Probably." Kaworu looked at his room.
It was pretty empty, a couple pictures were on the wall and a desk sat under the window. It was a little cluttered.
The majority of his room was empty space.
Shinji dug through his laundry and pulled out a pair of shorts and a shirt.
"H-here.."
"Thanks." Kaworu started to take his shirt off to change.
Shinji's face pinkened a little and he began searching for something for himself to wear to bed.

Once they both were changed, they discussed the sleeping arrangement.
"I can sleep on the floor." Shinji said.
"No. You're not sleeping on the floor." Kaworu protested.
"But!" Shinji began to protest back, "You're the guest! You can't take the floor!"
Kaworu smiled, "We could just share the bed. Then neither of us would sleep on the floor."
Shinji's face got pink again, "W-wouldn't that be uncomfortable?"
"Not really." Kaworu chuckled, "Are you opposed to it?"
"N-no.." Shinji didn't know why he felt so awkward, they were both guys after all.

Kaworu was expecting more resistance to the suggestion, but was pleased that Shinji agreed to it.
They both got situated on the bed after Shinji turned the light off.
The laid in silence for a while.
Shinji faced the wall, his back to Kaworu.
Kaworu laid on his back, he started humming quietly.
Shinji was startled by the sudden noise, but quickly found it peaceful and nice.
He closed his eyes and allowed himself to fall asleep.
Kaworu took a while before falling asleep.

That next morning, Kaworu woke up in bed alone.
Shinji had already gotten up.
Kaworu walked out of Shinji's room and towards the kitchen.
Shinji was cooking breakfast.
Kaworu stood in the doorway and watched him.
Shinji jumped a little as he turned around, "Y-you're awake..!"
"Yeah." Kaworu walked in, "Morning."
"Morning..." Shinji fumbled a little, "How long were you there?"
"Not long." Kaworu admitted.

After breakfast, Kaworu changed back into his clothes, which had been washed and neatly folded on Shinji's dresser when he woke up.
"I'll text you when I get home." Kaworu said as he slipped his shoes on.
"A-alright." Shinji accompanied him to the door.
"Sorry I have to leave so early, my mom wanted to spend the day with me." Kowaru said as he walked outside.
"It's fine.." Shinji didn't really want him to go, but understood that he couldn't stay.
"Well, see ya soon." Kaworu started to leave.
Shinji stood in the front doorway and watched Kaworu leave.
He couldn't wait to talk to him again.
