Chapter 10

That night Gwil woke up by the door to their bedroom opening. Even though he was half asleep, he could feel Ben's arm around him and his fingers intertwined with Joe. He managed to get himself enough out of Ben's grasp to turn around. Addison was standing in the doorway, her shoulders were going up and down fast. Gwil quickly got up from the bed. He lifted Addison up before closing the bedroom door behind him. While walking towards the couch, he was shushing Addison softly. When he sat down, he pushed Addison even more in his chest. 
"Sssh, sweetheart. It's alright. You're safe," Gwil mumbled. 

After a while, he could feel Addison starting to get calmer. He turned her around so he could face her.
"Hey, what is going on?" Gwil asked while brushing some hairs from Addison's face.
"Bad dream," Addison mumbled. 
"I am so sorry to hear that, sweetie. What was it about?" Addison shook her head. 
"You don't want to talk about it?" Gwil asked. Addison shook her head once more.
"That is totally fine. Just know that if you ever do want to talk about it, you can come to me, alright?" 
"Okay," Addison said.
"I know it is a little tough. And it must be weird to suddenly live with us, but all we want is to make you happy. We will never do anything to hurt you," Gwil said. 

"Do you want me to stay with you until you fall asleep?" Gwil asked. Addison nodded.
"Okay, let's go." Gwil stood up and held out his hand for Addison to take. They walked back to Addison's bedroom.
"Do you want me to lay with you?" Gwil asked. Addison nodded again. So, Gwil laid down on the bed. He opened his arms. Immediately Addison crawled into his embrace. She placed her head on Gwil's arm. When he felt her shiver he shushed her softly.
"Nothing can happen. I am here. You are safe," Gwil whispered. He handed Addison Misha. 
"Goodnight," Gwil said before placing a kiss on her forehead. 

The next morning Joe jumped into the shower as soon as he got up. Gwil was already out of bed when Joe woke up. When Joe walked out of the bathroom, he saw that Ben was also awake.
"Where is Gwil," Ben mumbled after kissing Joe.
"I was just about to check the office. I'll be right back," Joe said. He placed a kiss on Ben's nose before standing up from the bed. He lifted the blankets so he could cover Ben up. After he found the office, living room and kitchen empty, he walked over to Addison's room. The door was opened at a crack. When he pushed the door open further, he melted at the sight. Gwil was laying on his back. Addison was completely curled up at his side. Her head was resting on Gwil's arm which was wrapped around her. Joe turned on his phone before snapping a few pictures.

He silently made his way back to their bedroom.
"I found Gwil, he is in Addison's room. I think she finally trusts him. You should come and watch," Joe said before letting his hand run through Ben's hair. Ben looked up with a smile before slowly getting out of bed. When they arrived at the bedroom, Ben's expression completely changed to admiration. Joe watched him with a smile before standing next to him. He placed his head on Ben's shoulder. Ben immediately intertwined their fingers. A silent tear rolled down Ben's face. Joe used his thumb to wipe it away.
"Sorry," Ben whispered. His gaze was still fixated on the two in front of them.
"No need to be," Joe said. He lifted his head so he could place a kiss on Ben's cheek.
"Gosh, I love you," Ben said. Joe opened his arms to offer a hug. Without thinking twice about it, Ben stepped forward. He buried his face into the crook of Joe's neck. 

After a while, Joe pulled away. 
"We should wake him though. He has to leave soon," Ben said.
"Are you going back to bed?" Joe whispered. 
"Might try to lay down for a bit. If that is okay with you?" Ben asked. Joe immediately nodded.
"Of course, I might send Addison your way if she is still tired," Joe said.
"That will be no problem. Thanks, sweetheart," Ben said before pecking Joe's lips. As soon as Ben left the room, Joe sat down on the bed. He placed a hand on Gwil's shoulder before slowly shaking him.
"Love, you have to leave in an hour," Joe said quietly. Gwil barely opened his eyes. He smiled when he looked at Joe. A frown coated his face while he felt Addison shift in his arms. He looked around the room.
"Oh, I didn't mean to fall asleep here."

Addison slowly opened her eyes.
"Good morning, did you sleep well?" Joe asked. Addison nodded.
"Do you want to sleep some more?" Addison nodded again. 
"If you want to, you can lay down with Benny, or you can stay here, okay?" Joe asked. Addison nodded. Gwil turned himself to Addison.
"I am going to leave for work, but I'll be back around lunchtime," Gwil said before getting up from the bed. He let his hand run through Addison's hair before wandering off. Joe quietly shut the door behind them.

"We told you that she would trust you. What happened?" Joe asked. 
"She had a nightmare. I woke up when she opened the door. So, I offered to lay with her until she was asleep. I must have fallen asleep as well," Gwil said. He checked his phone for the time before walking into the kitchen to make himself some breakfast. Joe looked up the picture he had just taken of Gwil and Addison before showing it to Gwil.
"Look how cute the two of you are," Joe said. Gwil smiled.
"We are, aren't we?"
