Chapter 25

Rami pulled up minutes later. Addison quickly called out and soon heard Ben yelling. She giggled before making her way over to the door. As soon as she stepped outside Rami rushed to her.
"Are you okay, Addy?" He asked. When Addison nodded he took her hand in his own before leading her to his car. Lucy was sitting in the middle of the backseat. Scarlett was on one side of her and she made room for Addison on the other.
"Hey," She said when Addison sat down.
"Everything alright?" Addison nodded before burying herself in Lucy's side. Lucy brushed some hairs out of her face while wrapping an arm around her.

Rami made his way over to the house. He had his spare key in his hand. When he opened the front door he heard Joe yelling, followed by the sound of someone getting hit. Ben grunted loudly. Rami rushed into the bedroom. He found Ben with a hand on the side of his face while he glared at Joe angrily. Joe had his hands balled into fists while he looked at Ben like he could kill him at any second. Gwil had pushed Joe against the wall to refrain him from moving.
"What the fuck is happening here?" Rami exclaimed.
"This idiot had the nerve to tell Addison that we shouldn't rush into adopting her," Joe said while pointing towards Ben. 
"Of course I am. She hasn't been living with us for that long. What if she doesn't like it here?" Ben asked. Rami shook his head.

"Ben, can I talk to you in private?" Rami asked. 
"Of course, but you've got to know that this is a prank first," Ben said. Rami pushed his shoulder. 
"I hate you. All of you," Rami said while glaring at the three of them. Gwil has let go of Joe.
"No, you don't," Joe said. Rami sighed loudly.
"You're right. I could never," Rami said.

"Thank you so much for organizing this surprise for us. It is the best thing to ever happen to us," Gwil said. Rami smiled at him.
"I assume you said yes then?" Rami asked. Joe chuckled.
"Of course we did."  
"Did she really ask you about it?" Ben asked. Rami nodded. 
"She came to me to ask why Scarlett called me dad and she called me Rami. I explained that to her. Then she asked me why she doesn't call you dads. That is when I explained the entire process to her. And she would really love for you to be her dads," Rami said. Joe took a shaky breath.

Rami stepped forward to give Joe a hug.
"Congratulations, Joey," Rami said while lightly swaying him from side to side. He heard Lucy walk in with the two girls. She wrapped her arms around Ben the first chance she could. Hugs were shared between all of them. 
"I want a hug too," Scarlett said after a while. Rami chuckled before lifting her up. 
"What about a big group hug?"

When Ben was sitting on their bed later that evening, he shook his head. Silent tears made their way down his face. Joe walked out of the bathroom. He smiled before making his way over to Ben. He sat down next to his husband while wrapping his arms around him.
"Sorry," Ben mumbled while drying his tears off with his arm.
"Don't apologise," Joe said.
"I can't believe this is happening," Ben said. He turned himself around so he could crook his face into Joe's neck. When Joe wrapped his arms around Ben, the latter couldn't keep it in any longer. Sobs ripped through Ben's body while Joe was holding him close. 

That was what Gwil saw when he walked out of the bathroom. He sat down on the other side of the bed to not disturb the moment the two were having. 
"I can't believe we are actually getting to adopt her. We are going to be actual parents. I am going to be a dad," Ben mumbled. Joe rubbed his hand over Ben's back.
"Yes, you are, honey. And I tell you what, you are going to make a perfect dad. Well, you already are a wonderful dad," Joe said. Ben sniffeled.
"Crazy to think that a few years before meeting you and Gwil I had given up on love. I thought I never would meet someone who would accept me. I didn't even think about kids, because I never thought I'd get into a committed relationship for long enough to think about that. And here we are. I have the two most wonderful husbands this world has ever known and I get to adopt the most adorable girl," Ben said. He felt a hand on his back.
"We love you, Ben," Gwil said.
"I know," Ben said. 
"I know," He whispered again.  

A few days later, Gwil had Addison sit down next to the sink in the bathroom. Her face was towards the mirror.
"What do you want for your hair today?" Lucy and Rami had made a long video to show them different hairstyles. All of them practised on a wig they bought so they could do Addison's hair as well as possible. When Gwil didn't get an answer, he looked at her face through the mirror. Small tears were rolling down her cheeks.
"What is going on?" Addison shrugged. 
"You don't know?" Gwil asked. Addison shook her head.
"Just woke up feeling a little sad?" Addison nodded.
"That's okay. It happens sometimes. Do you want anything from me?" Gwil asked. 
"A hug?" Addison mumbled. 
"Turn around, sweetheart," Gwil said. Addison did as told and Gwil lifted her up. Addison wrapped her legs around Gwil's waist and tugged her face into his neck.
"Who loves you?" Gwil asked.
"You do," Addison mumbled.
"And how much?" Gwil followed up. He felt Addison's lips curl up against his neck.
"Infinitely"

They stood like that until Addison's tears had stopped flowing.
"Today is going to be such a fun day, though. It is your teacher's birthday today. I heard you are going to do all sorts of fun things," Gwil said while he sat down Addison on the countertop again.
"After school, I'll be there to take you and Scarlett home. Then you can show her your new doll house," Gwil said. Addison nodded.
"What do you want me to do with your hair?" Gwil asked. Addison's eyebrows furrowed while she was thinking.
"Ponytail," She said. 
"How many? One or two?" She held up two fingers. 
"Alrighty."

A few minutes later, Addison was sitting at the kitchen table eating breakfast. Gwil had helped to choose her to chose an outfit. They wanted to give her more independence. When they tried letting her choose her own outfits she came up with the most ridiculous combinations. Gwil let her pick a shirt she really wanted to wear. After that, he grabbed two pairs of jeans that went well with the shirt. That way, Addison felt like she could pick her own outfit, but Gwil was still able to make sure it matched.
