Page 47: The Friendly Little Devil PT1

BA-THUMP, BA-THUMP, BA-THUMP

    That was the only thing that had been clear in the little canine devil could hear. He couldn't open his eyes. Yet, he didn't seem to want to. All he could do was sleep and wait. He didn't know what he was waiting for, but he would suppose he'd know when the time was right.

    It hadn't been long till--He heard the sound of something cracking. Though his eyes were still closed shut he could feel something warm,

    Instinctively he reached out and pushed.

    He pushed and pushed until finally the shell he was in broke free.

    He ended up toppling over as he let out a squeak. His eyes barely opened as he was a little tired. Though the moment his strength had been back, he started to move towards something, until he felt his head bump into something.

    With his vision somewhat clear he noticed a boot as he felt it. He cooed before he looked up towards who he ran into. It had been a figure of a person, as they appeared to be wearing a cloak that covered their left arm.

    He soon heard a voice coming from them.

    "So you hatched--That's good. I was worried you weren't going to make it given where I found you."

    He cooed as he tilted his head in curiosity.

    They soon reached out to him; the little canine could see that one hand had been human--And the other had been covered with scales as he possessed a set of claws. And yet despite this,  they picked him up and cradled him gently.

    They spoke again.

    "There now little one--You are safe in this realm. Once you are strong enough, I will teach you what I know about the magic of this world--And the realm beyond."

    They soon took him from the room, as the little one reached out to the light they brought him towards; the first light he felt when he was inside the shell.

Theodore's eyes shot open as he found himself in a familiar room with a familiar silver heard girl who was holding a plush of a deer with wings. Theodore let out a yawn as he sat himself up while he rubbed his eyes. He couldn't help but look out the window as his eyes were fixated on the moon.

    His paw reached out to it, like he wanted to take the moon out of the sky and play with it.

    "... That dream again... Like in the time before that... And the time before that... And I still can't remember their face." He said as his eyes were gray, "--Where did you go Master? Why did you leave me behind?"

    Two days had passed since Avalon and her family had settled in and honestly as a surrogate mother to all of her siblings, she couldn't believe what had been happening to her in general. One minute she had been working a double shift at the tavern to pay off her debt and pay Karasu back, the next thing she knew--She ended up getting a Magic Knight robe from the Captain of the Black Bulls himself.

    She could swear she had been dreaming but by the third day she had awoken, everything seemed to have clicked for her.

    Especially with what Black Bulls member Vanessa had surprised her with.
