No one's POV

Currently, it was the year 2013, Y/n was sitting by herself behind the house whilst the other children were playing in the fields. Y/n was too busy drawing when she heard someone's footsteps approaching her.She looked over and saw her bestfriend, and crush, Tenma.

"Tenma?" Y/n said, putting her pencil down beside her.

"I knew you'd be here!" Tenma said, sitting beside her. He picked up the pencil and looked over at what Y/n was drawing. He looked confused.

"Is something wrong?" Y/n asked. Tenma shook his head.

"I didn't know you were able to draw demons, especially those types of demons! In fact, I never imagined demons looking like that." Tenma pointed at the demon in her drawing. Y/n lifted her hand and placed it on his shoulder.

"You'll understand one day.." Y/n said, smiling a little at the boy who was still confused.

"Today's your last day, isn't it?" Tenma asked. Y/n nodded. "How come you didn't come to play with us? Shinsuke and Aoi were really looking forward to hang out with you on your last day! Also, congrats on getting a new home! I wonder when I'll get one.."

"Soon, Tenma. Just be patient." Y/n said, giving him a sweet smile.

"It's not fair! I'm older than you and I still haven't found a family!" Tenma groaned, crossing his arms.

"It's fine, maybe when you're 12 you'll find one! That means in about.. a year? Since we're both 11 right now." Y/n said, holding up a finger.

"Will you write us letters?" Tenma asked. Y/n nodded.

"That's only if I can.." Y/n uttered. Tenma tilted his head to the side, confused about what Y/n had just said, but he just shrugged it off.

"When I get out of here, I want to study soccer, and become a soccer player! " Tenma said, looking up into the sky.

Y/n went silent and looked at her sketchbook. She handed it to Tenma and looked down at her hands.

"I want you to have this." Y/n mumbled. "Don't open it until I leave, got it?" Y/n said.

"Mhm! Thanks Y/n!" Tenma hugged her tightly, closing his eyes. Y/n hugged him back. Y/n could feel tears forming in her eyes, but she didn't want to release her tears right now. "Will you come play with us now?" Tenma asked.

"Of course!" Y/n replied. Tenma got up and then helped Y/n up. They both held hands as they ran to the fields, to find the other children.

They all played until it was time for Y/n to go.

She put on her uniform and grabbed her suitcase and hat. The girl then quietly walked into Tenma's room, looking around to make sure no one saw her. She headed to his bed and slipped a note under his pillow, hoping he would see it before he slept.

Y/n ran down the stairs as she heard the mother of her house call her down.

"I'm here Mama!" Y/n said, smiling at Mama.

"Y/n dear, are you excited to go with your new family?" Mama asked. Y/n slowly nodded.

"Everyone, say your goodbyes to Y/n." Mama announced. The little kids ran up to Y/n and hugged her legs. Once they stopped, Tenma walked over to her, wiping his tears.

"I hope we can see each other again, one day.." Tenma murmured. Y/n smiled and hugged him.

"Don't worry about me, it will all be fine without me.." Y/n whispered in his ear.

"Y/n, it's time to go." Mama stated. Y/n let go of Tenma and walked off with Mama, waving goodbye to everyone.

Everyone was tidying up, but Tenma. He was staring at the sketchbook in his hands. He slowly opened it and stared at the first page of it.

"Woah.. her drawings are amazing.." He muttered. He looked at the dare it was made. 8.8.2012. Tenma flicked through more of the pages until he saw a certain page, which just had writing on it.

'The next few pages contain things that are real.'

"Real?" Tenma thought. He flipped the page and saw the demons. "What.. those aren't real.."

He saw a small note at the bottom of the page and read it.

'If Tenma is reading this, please go to the last page :D'

He did as he was told. He went to the back of the book and found a letter.

Dear Tenma, if you are reading this, that means I am dead. Yes, that's right. Dead. Now, how did I die? Well, of course, that was because of demons. You must think I'm crazy for saying demons are real, but trust me, they are. I've seen them with my own eyes. They killed all of our other siblings. You see, I've been hiding this from you since I was... I don't know, 7 maybe? So, what's happened to me is that I've been sent to my 'home' which really isn't my home home because from what I've seen demons have been selling us and we're actually in farms. Mama isn't to be trusted. She a liar, a scam. A fraud, a whatever other word means liar. I know there's no evidence of me being shipped out before you but I have a gut feeling that I will be, so just in case I will be, I'm writing this to let you know about my discovering. Another thing I have to mention, the test scores determine who will be shipped out and who won't be. From around the ages 6-12 is when people start to get shipped out. Those with the lower scores get shipped out first. My job for you is that I want you and the others to escape this farm. I'll update this once I've learnt more about the area.

Date - 4.6.2013

Failing my tests, that means I have a high chance of getting shipped out, great, isn't it? Well, I'm not really failing, I'm just not getting high scores that often, maybe like twice a week? I've been too focused on creating plans for escaping and it's all so exhausting, I've made some plans and if you flip to the page on the left twice, you'll see about 3 plans.

Date - 8.6.2013

Ugh! I can't believe I'm saying this but I loveee you! Like love love love you! I have a huge crush on you but I've never had the courage to tell you. I wish I could tell you to your face...

Date - 7.7.2013

Getting shipped out today :D. Good luck escaping Tenma, I'll pray that you make it out alive. Also, there's a note under your pillow, I wrote down some other plans I've created.

"Oh." Was the only word Tenma managed to get out. He was crying quietly, he didn't even realise he was crying until he had finished reading her letter. Tenma loved her too, and he was upset that she hadn't told her about this whole farm thing sooner. He wanted to live a happy life with her, but now he couldn't. He knew he couldn't trust any of the adults anymore. He decided it was best to tell Tsurugi and Shindou about it first. He grabbed the note from under his pillow and ran downstairs with the sketchbook, calling out both of their names.

No one's POV

"It's the 7th of July 2016.." Tenma breathed, staring down at the kinda messed up sketchbook. It's been three years since Y/n's death and Tenma and the others had successfully escaped, just as Y/n wished. Tenma was attending Raimon JR high with all the others and was now 15.

"Thinking about her still?" A voice said. Tenma looked up from the sketchbook and saw Tsurugi. Tenma nodded.

"Why didn't she just tell us? We all could've escaped together." Tenma mumbled.

"I'm sure she has her reasons, she's in a better place now, maybe in your next life, you'll see her." Tsurugi assured, patting Tenma's back.

Either way, Tenma still couldn't get over Y/n. He wished she was here, playing soccer with everyone, getting to know what the outside world was like.
