Walking into Nancy's room felt like one of Robin's best dreams. It smelled beautiful like flowers and perfume and vanilla. It was pink and had Nancy's style written all over it. It just felt too good to be true to be able to spend an evening with her favorite person.
At first both Nancy and Robin were a bit nervous and awkward about what to do.
"Want to um play a game or something? Sorry, I'm such a terrible host" said Nancy, her sentecne breaking off into giggles
Robin brushed some of her side bangs out of her face, "No, you're a lovely host! Aw omg, look you do have a Carebear! Who is that one?"
Nancy rolled her eyes, "She's just a silly stuffed animal. She doesn't have a name"
Robin challenged, "Oh really? Then why is she on your bed and you referred to her with pronouns?"
Nancy admitted sheepishly, "Okayyyy, that's Cheer Bear"
Robin beamed, she wanted to tell Nancy how adorable she thought she was
Nancy tried brushing off her nervousness, "Okay, I'm going to get a game out for us"
She pulled out a game called "Mystery Date Game"
"This should be fun" smirked Robin
The girls sat down and opened up the game
"All these guys are hunks and I want to date them all" said Robin, her voice dripping with sarcasm
Nancy tittered, "Oh right, you aren't into guys"
Robin stammered, "Umm yeah"
Her heart feeling like it was trying to burst out of her ribcage Nancy admitted, "I honestly don't think I'm really into guys anymore either"
Robin widened her eyes, "Wait what?"
Nancy sighed, "I just don't see myself with them anymore"
"But you do see yourself with a girl?" asked Robin
Nancy bit her lip, "Possibly?"
Nancy looked into Robin's blue eyes and said breathlessly, "If that girl was really funny and sweet and made my heart soar"
"Really? Well, she sounds like an amazing girl" said Robin, sitting up more
"Okay she really is a golden retreiver if she's that oblivious" Nancy thought to herself
A new song started up on the radio that was playing in her room.
Robin stood up, "Oh this is a good one, Nancy"
Nancy furrowed her dark brows, "What?"
She had no idea how much Robin loved when she did that. Robin truly believed that Nancy Wheeler had the best eyebrows and the best everything
"Come on, stand up. Dance with me" encouraged Robin, taking Robin Nancy's hands in hers
Nancy acted reluctant to stand up but she was secretly holding back a smile.
A song called 'Just The Two Of Us' was playing. It had a good groovy beat and the girls let themselves go while dancing and even singing a little bit to the tune
Nancy and Robin would both sing a few verses to each other and then it would be followed with them bursting into laughter and continuing to dance p
They didn't have any particular choreography, they were just having fun with each other
During the bridge during the lovely saxophone solo, Nancy felt like falling into Robin's arms and kissing her till she couldn't breath.
But of course that wasn't what happened. In Nancy's head, yes that's what happened but in reality Nancy started to realize that if she made a move on Robin and Robin did actually like her back... what if Robin thought she was just rebounding? It hadn't even been a full 24 hours that Nancy as broken up from Johnathon.
Robin noticed Nancy staring off into space as she mindlessly swayed at one point.
"Hey, you okay, Nance?" asked Robin worriedly
Nancy inhaled sharply, "Y-yeah I'm good, Robin. I'm just really glad to be here with you honestly"
"Me too but if you want to talk through the breakup or anything, please just let me know okay?" Robin rubbed her arm
A single tear rolled down Nancy's cheek and she hugged Robin who tightly hugged her back.
"I've never felt comfort like this...like her" Nancy thought to herself
But her anxiety started getting the best of her
"What if you're just rebounding? What if you don't actually like her? You're just a slut"
Nancy bounced back from Robin's grasp, "You've gotta go, Robin"
Robin puzzled, "Wait, what? Nancy, we were having such a good time. Let's just talk, okay?"
Nancy shook her head, "I can't do this, Robin. I'm sorry but I can't"
Nancy tried not to look at Robin's hurt expression. It felt like someone was carving daggers in her heart looking at Robin feel upset
"Okay if that's what you want, I understand" sighed Robin, she went over to grab her overnight bag and walked out of Nancy's room
Nancy ran her hands through her hair, trying not to break down
"I do like her, I honestly think I'm falling in love with her"
"No you don't, you're just a dumb slut and that's all you'll ever be" her anxiety told her
Nancy shook herself out of it, "No! I'm not!"
In the doorway Mike asked, "Yeesh you okay, Nancy? Why are you talking to yourself?"
"Mike, I swear if you overheard me and Robin-"
"I didn't! I just came up here once I saw Robin left. She seemed pretty upset. And honestly you're not looking too good yourself either" noticed Mike
"Please just leave me alone, Mike" said Nancy between gritted teeth
"I just wanted you to know I'm here if you need anything, sis" Mike said quietly, walking out back into the hall
Nancy glanced at the doorway Mike had just walked out from, thinking about how things got left off with Robin.
Nancy pushed aside her worries and went to go find Robin
