Matthew's P.O.V

"What's wrong, Matthew? You look as if you've seen a ghost." He says, still smirking.
My mouth hangs open, shock my only emotion at this moment.
"Shut your mouth, you'll catch flies." He reaches to close my mouth.
I back away from his touch. There's no way this could be happening. This is all a dream. Am I feeling guilt? Do I regret what I did?
"You not gonna say anything? And think I came all this way!" He speaks, pretending to be hurt.
I inhale deeply, trying to think of what to say.
"I- I thought I killed you?" I finally respond, confusion in my voice.
"I did too. Until I woke up in a hospital, of course. My throat's still a bit sore. But, I'm not surprised. You did slice it, like Sushi." He chuckles, tracing his fingers gently over the scar.
"Why are you here?" I ask him seriously, knowing that he's just trying to wind me up.
"Just wanted to ask you something, that's all. Why did you go Ninja on Andrew? He was your best friend, after all. Everyone's trying to figure out why you would kill your own friend. Andrew says hi, by the way. He also said that he has got pins and needles from laying in that grave 24/7."
I know what he's doing. He's trying to make me feel guilty. He's trying to upset me. I look down at the floor, not wanting to face him.
"Matt, I'm joking! Don't be like that, buddy!" He laughs, placing his hand on my shoulder.
"I just suddenly felt the need to kill him. Lust for blood. And you don't wanna mess with Schizophrenia. So, when you tried to stop me... I obviously went for you too." I say, nodding towards his neck, unable to point.
"I see." He replies. "And what happened after you tried to butcher me?"
I think back to when it all happened. It's hazy, but I still remember it perfectly.
"Well, mum grabbed my shoulder, so I turned to her. She realised that she and Rosie would be next, and started backing away from me. Dad sneaked up behind me, and hit me really hard in the back of the head with a glass bottle. I heard a smash, and I don't remember anything else after that. Then I woke up a day later in this hell hole, with a huge headache." I explain to him.
"Ouch, bet that left a mark." He laughs at his own comment.
"Hmm, mmm." I agree.
"Anyway, I gotta roll. That thing doesn't look to comfy, so I'm gonna ask them if they can take it off. I'll visit again, maybe next week."
I nod, looking down at the ground again.
"Hey." He kneals down to my level, and lifts my head to face him. "I'm sorry all this happend. It's not your fault. I forgive you." He smiles before standing up, ruffling my black hair before he walks out the door.
The door shuts and I'm left alone again. But I can't get one thing out of my head.
He forgives me.
