Warning: this is a long chapter, about 2,730 words :)

"You shouldn't have come," Godric announced as he turned his attention away from his mate's stare and stepped to the side where Octavia was frozen.

Standing next to Godric, Octavia could hear Sookie's heart racing and sense her magic decreasing based on her calming emotions. Octavia couldn't tell if it was the decrease of tension in the room now that Gabe was dead or if being next to Godric calmed her. To Octavia, it could've been a mixture of both as the small group heard a scream from upstairs. Following the scream, Godric and Octavia sensed another vampire's presence, and just from the pull in their bond, both vampire and hybrid knew who it was. As Sookie expended Bill to come flying down those stairs, Octavia became anxious to see Eric since this was the second time she disobeyed her sheriff's orders in a few days. Octavia sensed Godric close in on her right side, believing it was a subtle hint he was there to defend her.

"I'm here, my child. Down here." Godric spoke as he ushered through the bond of his progenies to summon Eric to the basement. Then, in a rush, Eric was suddenly before Godric and Octavia, his tired eyes shifting from his sister progeny to his maker.

"Godric" Was all Eric could say as he kneeled to the floor before Godric, something Octavia never once thought to do. In her lifetime, not once did she kneel before her maker. But then again, Godric treated Octavia differently. Octavia glanced at Sookie, worried to Hell and back if she was hurt. Asking through their thoughts, Sookie assured Octavia that Gabe didn't get very far when she and Godric appeared.

"You were a fool for sending humans after me," Godric spoke with no expression or emotion as Eric didn't move an inch.

"I had no other choice. These savages...they seek to destroy you." Eric explained as he slowly looked up to see Godric's reaction to his words, unknowing that Godric did this on his own accord. Unfortunately, Octavia knew everything from when she stepped onto the Fellowship's territory. It was unknown facts she kept to herself.

"I'm aware of what they have planned," Godric spoke the truth as he and Eric stared at the other. Octavia was sure Godric hadn't noticed she stepped away from his side and next to Sookie. Pulling Sookie into her left side, Octavia felt the protection was slightly needed for Sookie and the hybrid. It brought comfort at a strange moment like this.

"This one betrayed you." Godric used his body to point out the detail that Hugo was still knocked unconscious on the floor behind where he stood, causing Octavia to forget Hugo was there ultimately.

"It was the Fellowship. They were set up." Octavia announced to break the intense silence as Eric briefly nodded his head. Still, Octavia couldn't tell if Eric was upset with her disobeying orders. Godric turned his attention to where Octavia now stood as her voice carried through the open space between them. By the manner Godric reacted, he didn't realize Octavia had moved.

"How long's it been since you fed?" Eric asked out of the blue as Godric replied with his answer of requiring very little blood nowadays. Something about Godric's answer made Octavia believe he was lying because she could sense how much he desired her blood now that they were in the same room. Octavia figured he had a good reason to lie to Eric but kept silent. Alarms suddenly blared overhead as everyone in the room raised their heads to the sound. It was time to go.

"Save the human. Go on," Godric ordered as Octavia already had that idea in mind.

"I'm not leaving your side until you are-" Eric started to say, but it seemed Godric had other plans when Octavia caught him thinking of her.

"I can take care of myself," Godric whispered harshly at Eric as Sookie demanded they leave.

"Spill no blood on your way out. Go," Godric ordered one last time before Sookie moved towards the door, causing Eric to stand quickly. Thinking she almost got away with any lectures, Octavia watched as Godric and Eric stopped her from leaving, Godric's eyes dropping at the sight of where her gunshot wound was. Eric's eyes soon followed as their minds all bridged together, focusing on Octavia's wound.
