(A's/N: had to name this chapter after Adele's song Easy On Me)

It was an addiction like no other. A glass of water that never stopped overflowing when thirst took over. A buzzing that never stopped vibrating through Octavia's veins or throughout her body. The magic that flowed around her had slightly settled, but it became a current of waves and motion. It was as if being on a dancefloor surrounded by colorful lights and loud sounds that you couldn't tell what the floor or ceiling was. Everything moved like one giant ocean; she was the moon, the gravity holding it all together. It was euphoria in its most extraordinary form. This was how it was supposed to feel drinking blood from any creature on this Earth. Octavia was no exception to this feeling, but in hindsight, it wasn't without consequence.

The hybrid had locked herself away in her bedroom.  The loft was safer if she was confined as Cameron attended to Samantha for any injuries. Fresh human blood didn't bother Octavia in the slightest, but her vampire friend caused slight panic. Elizabeth's coven had created a barrier spell just for Octavia that night. A simple but helpful spell that would keep any scents from vampires out of her bedroom. Octavia sat on the edge of her bed, elbows resting heavily on her thighs as she inhaled and exhaled her breath to keep calm and focused. As the only known hybrid, there were things that Octavia overlooked out of habit. Bloodlust was one of them. It was the only reason why Octavia was hardly feeding nowadays from fresh resources. She had donors fill blood bags thanks to vampires like Cameron and others she trusted to drink from. It made blending in with the vampire species easy so she wouldn't feel isolated. But, again, it didn't come without consequence.

Her magical species made everything difficult from the start. With magic flowing in her veins, everything magnified. This Octavia understood and accepted from the very beginning. But it was unfortunate how quickly life could alter that thought in her head. One minor mistake and her identity was revealed to humans. One magical mishap and the supernatural would know she was a Sera witch. Even a tiny trail of bodies would leave vampire authorities hunting her down. It was a new weight on her shoulders no one expected her to carry, and boy, was it painful. Pain like this wasn't going away anytime soon as she felt her fangs reach the edge of her gumline, almost begging to pop out as she felt Cameron walk past her bedroom door but did not stop. Octavia's focus broke within seconds as she felt a rush of adrenaline and bloodlust to feed again. Octavia wished deep within her dead heart someone-

A creak in her bed brought Octavia back to reality.

Octavia realized she was rocking her body back and forth to ease her surroundings. But when she opened her violet eyes, Octavia suddenly felt the same way she did when she was human: helpless. Every object in her room, minus the bed she sat on, was levitating in the air. Moving from her comfort position in a wave of shock and fear, time felt frozen for just a few minutes as every object slowly began its descent back onto the concrete floors. Octavia watched every object fall back into place, covering the dust markings where everything once sat minutes ago. And just like heightened abilities, so came the overwhelming emotions to fall apart. And soon, her violet eyes were watering with blood tears as Octavia's magic began to overwhelm her once again...until the door cracked open, revealing Godric and Eric. Eric took a light step towards Octavia, which caused every light in the room to flicker rapidly, signaling the hybrid's instant distress. This small action caused Eric to raise his pale hands to show Octavia he meant no harm.

"Easy, darling. We're just here to help you." Eric spoke in a light and gentle tone, which he's not used to. At the sight of how Octavia looked and felt, Eric, felt he had no other option but to show this sensitive side he gained over his lifetime. And it was only for Octavia most times. Eric tried to hide information about that night's attacks that Octavia did. When he watched her eyes, he knew his thoughts were open. This brought a growl from Octavia as she shook her head in disbelief.
