(A's/N: It's me. Hi! I'm the problem. It's me. Literally, apologies shouldn't be accepted, but this chapter came to me in a dream, and I was like, hell fucking yes, finally! Some inspiration! With a break I didn't mean to be so long; I have new ideas about where I want this to go because I lost my original ideas.)
Octavia would've never associated vampires with bee hives in any concept.
Though Godric had acted as the "Queen Bee" in this hive, his little workers were far from how they should've acted as the real insects do. With the hive buzzing away to a party almost every night, this night felt awkward to Octavia and Cameron. Octavia naturally felt out of place, despite being surrounded by vampires and two humans, Sookie and Jason. Making eye contact with Cameron as he stood in the far corner of the living space, he looked gauche surrounded by his vampire peers, a sight Octavia had never seen from an ancient vampire.
Yet, he stayed in one place amongst the thriving hive of vampires. Catching her staring, Cameron physically questioned Octavia on what was wrong by raising a brow and mentally questioned by projecting his curious thoughts. With a simple nod of her head to the side, Cameron's eyes moved towards the location to see Jason Stackhouse, his sister Sookie, and Vampire Bill standing around in a circle, mingling. Frowning while thinking she was asking him to socialize, that seemed to be just the request as he only nodded before making his way casually to the small group and away from his "safe space."
"You worry too much about him," Eric said from behind Octavia as he just appeared, his hands touching the fabric sleeves on her thin jacket.
"Says the Viking vampire who won't leave my backside." She muttered before turning at an angle to look back at Eric's towering figure.
"Godric's orders" Was all Eric said before sitting on the couch, gesturing for Octavia to do the same. She didn't.
"I want to go socialize with Sookie and Jason. I can still monitor his hive for traitors-" Octavia started to speak back until Godric's sudden appearance came from the back hallway leading to the bedrooms.
His face was expressionless and hard, yet daring Octavia to break a request he had asked of her hours before. At least, that's what she could see from his glaring eyes. Bonded mates watched the other's expression as Godric merely sat down in a chair, seemingly aiming to pivot said chair towards her direction, if on purpose.
"My request was simple, Octavia," Godric spoke, unknowing that his mate was already bored with the party, despite the activity.
"I've already been here for three hours, and there's nothing about your traitor, according to everyone's brain activity. Stan and his minions haven't shown up yet, despite your little invitation. Isn't it obvious I'm a little bored and unable to talk with my friends?" Octavia listed everything in a deadpan voice.
She couldn't believe she had to speak up about it to her maker and fellow progeny, hoping they would've seen and felt the boredom radiating off her like waves. Octavia watched with little anger as both maker and older progeny looked at one another for a few seconds, mockingly, with false frowns on their faces.
"I'll see myself out then." Was all Octavia said before walking away from her maker as she rushed to the door. Eric was suddenly blocking the only exit from the room as she huffed out a frustrated sigh. With one look over her head to the one person Eric could truly look at, Octavia didn't dare to look back as Eric practically smiled.
"Freedom to roam, but we're watching you, darling," Eric said with a sly smile.
Still, with the exception, Octavia immediately flipped the attitude switch in her mind, only to rush over to Jason and Sookie's group, a wide smile on her face when Jason's expression lit up. The hug that Jason gave her could last a thousand years. With an arm around her backside, Jason leaned comfortably in her side as she expressed happiness towards her friends. At this moment, Godric noticed the difference instantly. It was as if an alter ego switch was flipped as he observed his mate while Eric returned to his side.
