Reed
I laid the jacket and her back onto the floor, not caring at the moment. I couldn't focus on anything but her, her dripping wet hair, and the way her clothes were clinging to her body. I needed them off of her. I made quick work pulling the jersey up and over her head. She gasped as the cool air hit her damp body. I took her hand and pulled her along with me to my bedroom.
I grabbed a towel from the bathroom. When I returned, she stood with a lazy smile on her face. She was fucking gorgeous. I took the towel and patted down her body as I removed every piece of clothing. Eden stood quietly, just taking it all in. Once I had thrown the clothes to the side and returned to standing, I gently took her face in my hands, brushing my lips against hers. Our kiss was gentle at first but quickly became fast and needy.
Eden began removing my clothes, piece by piece. She took the towel from me and began drying me the same way I had dried her. She took her time down my chest, her hands exploring each tattoo that adorned me.
"You're beautiful." She whispered out. Her plump pink lips mesmerized me. Before I could grab her for another kiss, she was kneeling, drying my legs and freeing my throbbing cock from my boxers.
She looked up at me through her dark lashes with a smirk as she licked her lips. This woman was going to be the death of me. My cock twitched, painfully swollen, seeing her lips inching closer to the tip. She gently licked the precum that had pearled before taking me wholly and deeply into her mouth. I had to take my hand into her hair to steady myself, holding her in place as well. She moaned in response.
"Oh my God. You feel so good." I growled, looking down at her, watching as her head bobbed. I was just about to stop her, to pull her up and into my arms before crawling into the bed together, when my door burst open.
"Dude, where did you. . . oh fuck, oh shit. Fuck. Sorry. I mean, good for you, but sorry. Fuck."
"GET OUT!" I bellowed.
Bennett nodded but still stood, dumbfounded. I tried to block Eden from his view as I pointed at the door for him to go. It took a moment for his brain to catch up, but eventually, he rushed back out the door.
"I'm so sorry." I pulled Eden up to me. Her cheeks were rosy with embarrassment.
"It's fine. It's not your fault." She laughed nervously. I held her to my chest, wrapping my arms around her, leaning my cheek against her head.
"I didn't even think about locking the damn door. I swear, I'm going to kill him." I grumbled as she chuckled lightly.
My poor dick had sunken and gone into hiding after that fiasco. The mood was gone, and we both stood naked and shivering. I quickly went to my dresser, grabbing a shirt and shorts for Eden to throw on and a pair of shorts for myself.
"I'm sorry," I said again, admiring how good she looked in my clothes.
"Stop, it's fine." She leaned into my chest as I kissed the top of her head.
"I can't wait to find my own place," I commented. "Come on, are you hungry?" I slid her hand into mine.
"Your own place?" She questioned, following me out into the living area. Bennett was in the kitchen, looking through the refrigerator.
"Yeah, Tate's helping me look," I answered quickly. But, of course, I hadn't even mentioned it to Bennett or Hugh, for that matter.
"I'm, um, I'm so sorry, guys." Bennett turned, his face twisted into a mixture of embarrassment and disgust.
"Just knock next time." I whacked him on the back as I began to dig through our cabinets.
"I'll just start announcing myself, 'Bennet's Coming!'" He shouted. Eden and I made eye contact, waiting for the moment his words registered. She adorably sat with her hand over her mouth, holding in a snicker. "Don't say anything; I realize what I just said. I should just go to bed." He shook his head.
"It's okay, Bennett," Eden spoke up. "You played a great game tonight." My sweet girl, changing the subject for all of our benefit.
"Thank you. I did play pretty well, didn't I? I had to pick up the slack for this one." Bennett thumbed in my direction. I couldn't roll my eyes harder if I had tried. Eden giggled, shaking her head as she joined us in the kitchen.
"How about I order some food for us all? My treat since, well ya know." Bennett offered.
"Who are you?" I asked, shocked. This dude had been acting completely different lately. Offering to buy a meal? Definitely not the Bennett I knew.
"Shut up, man. I can be nice." He scrolled through his phone, throwing out names of various restaurants nearby. Then, after ordering pizza, he took off to his room to change. Eden and I sat at the counter, talking and snacking on chips.
"So, Tate is working to find you a new place?" She questioned.
"Yeah, I mentioned it to him the other day. He's got a few places to show me. I've thought about it for a while anyway; I like my own space and, well, I need it apparently." I smiled over at her. "How was your day, though?" I asked.
"Oh, a typical day, I suppose." She shrugged. "I did have to go back to the lab and have blood drawn. That was a blast. I got a lot of work done when I got back to the office and even booked a work trip. Guess where?" Her blue eyes sparkled in the light.
"Hopefully somewhere tropical? A beach?"
"Georgia." She grinned ear to ear. "There's a convention happening next month; there will be some new Authors we'll want to feature in the store attending." She explained.
"Next month?" I asked.
"Mmhmm." She nodded.
"Where in Georgia?" I continued my questions.
"Atlanta."
"Interesting. We happen to have back-to-back games there in about a month." I smiled, loving how fate had put us together again. "I was also going to ask if you might want to come along." I leaned forward, kissing her cheek.
"Really?" She seemed surprised. I nodded just as Bennett appeared, heading toward the door as the pizza delivery knocked. He returned to us, sitting the boxes down, rubbing his hands together.
"Eden will be in Atlanta when we are next month," I told Bennett as we dished out pizza.
"Sweet. We'll all have to hit your Mom up for a homecooked meal." Bennett was practically drooling just mentioning it.
"Hopefully, I'll be able to go, and nothing changes," Eden spoke up. I felt a twinge of sadness at the thought. At first, I wasn't sure what she had meant, but then I remembered the pending results for her donation. I hadn't had a chance to look further into the process, but I assumed she wouldn't be able to travel if she was prepping for that.
"Why would anything change?" Bennett raised a brow.
"Um." I paused, unsure if Eden wanted to share the information.
"Might as well include him too." She laughed. "I'm being tested to see if I'm a potential bone marrow or stem cell match for my biological mother."
"Jesus. That's major." He leaned on the counter, watching her as he spoke. "Can it hurt you, though?" I immediately felt awful; I hadn't even asked her what it would do to her and if it could potentially harm her to do so. What were the risks? Yes, our relationship was new, but I cared for her deeply, and I couldn't bear to see her in any pain, especially because of her mother, who only came back for selfish reasons.
"The risks are incredibly low, at least from what I've read and discussed. Once I know for sure if I'm a match, we'll get more into the whole process." She leaned into me, and I wrapped my arm around her, holding her close. It was as if she sensed my apprehension and was reassuring me. Whatever the reason, holding her in my arms was one of the best feelings in the world.
